Prime UX researchers and designers work with global product, marketing, branding, science, and technical team partners to deliver compelling customer experiences for Amazon.
We are looking for a Senior UX Designer to lead UX design for the Prime’s UX design system. In this role, you will collaborate with a team of UX designers to create an extensible library of reusable UX/UI components, patterns, and layouts that enable designers, engineers, product owners, and marketers to build and deliver cohesive, on-brand CXs to Prime customers around the world. You will work alongside research, product, and engineering partners across Prime and Amazon businesses to build customer-focused solutions at scale. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open and collaborative peer environment. You must be able to lead projects forward in the face of complexity and ambiguity.
Key job responsibilities
Design beautiful, useful, and delightful components, patterns, and layouts that uniquely serve Prime customers, express Prime brand, and are cohesive with Amazon’s stores and benefit partner experiences
Consider market analysis, customer feedback, and usability findings in design solutions
Use business requirements, user and market research to assist in developing scenarios, use cases, and high-level requirements
Design the UI architecture, interface, and interaction flows based on Prime’s customer journeys
Develop conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual mockups, click-throughs, and prototypes
Develop and maintain detailed user-interface specifications and design system documentation
Work with program managers to plan projects for effective delivery while maintaining high standards for design
Partner with front-end engineering (FEE) and content tooling teams to ensure scalable implementation of CXs using the design system
Be a passionate and effective advocate for design with non-design audiences
Write effectively to communicate design rationales and benefits to Amazon customers
Use analytics and data to drive design decision making to best serve our customers
Create and maintain processes for scaling, updating, managing, and evangelizing a design system
Key job responsibilities
Build high-quality, functional prototypes and demos that convey, prove, and advance the vision of future Prime products and features
Work with Amazon-wide stakeholders, including UX and engineering partners, to design, build, and maintain the central Prime Design System Library
Collaborate with design leadership and cross-functional partners throughout the product development lifecycle
Work alongside designers, product managers, engineers, and other experts to drive concepts from ideation to implementation
Advance design thinking by leveraging your technical expertise and supporting your team
Thrive in a fast-paced, iterative environment with minimal documentation and technical support
Bar-raising deliverables:
Extensive experience in prototyping and building user-facing digital experiences
Ability to lead the execution of large-scale prototypes and provide technical expertise on UX solutions
Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to drive projects forward in a complex, fast-paced environment
Passion for delivering design at scale and a relentless focus on improving the customer experience
Basic Qualifications
6+ years of design experience
Have an available online portfolio
Experience with design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign and prototyping in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Ajax
Preferred Qualifications
Experience applying scrum to visual or UX design processes
Experience with UX design of complex workflows

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
