Description
The PATOE Product Development team is responsible for designing, building and sustaining world-class Employee Relations and Learning & Development product experiences that serve PXT and Operations employees worldwide. We are responsible for a variety of products, spanning the AI-powered Aerial app that observes and forecasts deficiencies in the frontline employee experience, to SayHi, the translation service built into fulfillment center devices.
We are seeking a UX Researcher to help our team of UX Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers understand user needs. You’ll work with stakeholders across functions and levels and have an impact at all stages of product development. You’ll play a critical role in creating useful, usable, and delightful products. You will lead end-to-end user research initiatives utilizing appropriate qualitative and quantitative methodologies. And, as the sole UX Researcher you will have an opportunity to articulate a holistic research strategy and process that ensures our technical investments across the product portfolio are informed by a deep understanding of our customers and their most pressing needs.
Key job responsibilities
Conduct independent research on multiple aspects of products and experiences.
Collect and analyze user behavior through CSAT surveys and benchmark studies.
Work with Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers to prioritize research opportunities.
Understand and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research.
Advocate research findings to diverse audiences through written reports and in-person presentations.
About the team
This role sits within the larger People Analytics, Technology, and Operations Excellence (PATOE), a team of Engineers, Data Professionals, Product Managers and Scientists supporting PXT and Operations worldwide. The role will report into PATOE's Product Development team comprised of Technical Product Managers, Engineers and UX Designers. We design, build and sustain software products that support Employee Relations (Aerial, Exact), Global Learning & Development (Leader Liftoff, Talent Alchemy) and Linguistic Accessibility (SayHi).
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience.
5+ years of experience as a UX researcher, UX designer, information architect, or similar.
An online portfolio demonstrating experience creating end-to-end, user-centered design solutions and patterns, across desktop and mobile devices.
Preferred Qualifications
Expertise using multiple quantitative (e.g., experimental, behavioral, correlational, survey-based, etc.) and qualitative (e.g., interviews, ethnography, focus groups) research methods.
Solid communication skills and the ability to present research findings to diverse audiences through written reports and in-person presentations
Highly adaptable, creative, and thrives in a complex work environment.
Experience translating research findings into strategic narratives.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $193,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
