Become a foundational part of an ambitious, respectful, and diverse team as we are looking for a Senior UI Artist to join our team. Reporting to the UI/UX Experience Design Director, you will help visualize and craft interfaces for our game, delighting the player, directing focus on the information hierarchy, and setting the stage for the player's experience. As such, you have a strong artistic vision, an understanding of graphic and motion design, and the technical proficiency to bring your vision into the game. As a UI Artist, you will work with the Principal Art Director, UI/UX Design Director, Gameplay Designers, UI Engineers, and Technical Artists, to create visually stunning and immersive interfaces that enhance the player experience. Responsibilities Create and mock up visual designs for game UI based off the established design specifications. Create and mock up motion studies of game UI that reflect the anticipated behaviors of motion graphics and controls in the UI. Create prototypes in Figma or similar tools that can be used for User Research studies or design proof-of-concepts. Iterate with User Research teams to ensure consumer feedback is applied and accessibility goals and metrics are supported. Research and study appropriate visual reference to ensure visual designs feel authentic to the world we are creating. Follow up in Unreal after Engineers and Tech Artists to do in-engine visual passes that bring the graphics up to the high artistic bar. Author in-engine animations for elements in the game to bring life to the UI, enhance the player experience, and add clarity to the functionality of objects. Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in UI authoring technology, improving your skills. Qualifications 3+ years' experience as a UI artist in the video game industry. Strong Visual and graphic design skills. Knowledge of industry-standard software and tools, such as Unreal Engine, Photoshop, Illustrator, AfterEffects, Figma, or similar. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the range and benefits for your specific location. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs. BASE SALARY RANGES * California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento): $122,300 - $170,600 USD Annually * New York (depending on location e.g. Manhattan vs. Buffalo): $104,000 - $170,600 USD Annually * Jersey City, NJ : $137,300 - $170,600 USD Annually * Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs): $111,800 - $151,800 USD Annually * Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane): $104,000 - $174,700 USD Annually * British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria): $96,400 - $133,900 CAN Annually Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity. For British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees.
