Title: Freelance Video Producer/Writer/Film Editor

Location: Chicago, IL - Hybrid (in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month)

Duration: 12mos contract to start (40hrs), potential for extension or conversion to direct hire

Summary:

Our client seeks a creative and collaborative Freelance Video Producer/Writer/Film Editor to produce engaging video content for internal audiences. This self-starter will handle concepting, filming, editing, and producing, working closely with production crews, internal teams, and external partners to deliver high-quality content. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, brings a fresh perspective, and demonstrates enthusiasm for all projects.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Concept, script, film, and edit video content for internal use.
• Manage all aspects of the production process, including pre-production logistics, field production, and post-production.
• Collaborate with production crews, graphics teams, and editors to execute projects.
• Pitch and develop story ideas, book talent, and coordinate crew logistics.
• Produce various types of content, including training videos and sizzle reels.
• Participate in daily meetings with the internal production team to align on goals and progress.

Typical Day & Interaction with Team:

• Attend daily internal production team meetings.
• Plan and execute video projects, including shooting and editing.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders throughout the production process.

Skills & Education Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience producing video content for broadcast, agencies, or in-house creative teams.
• Strong writing, organizational, and project management skills.
• Proficiency in Creative Cloud tools such as Adobe Premiere, AfterEffects, and Photoshop is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to shoot and edit video independently.
• Portfolio showcasing video production expertise.
