Visual Merchandising Department Supervisor Location: Wilmette, IL Brief Overview of Position Wayfair's Physical Retail team is reinventing the shopping experience for Home by curating our portfolio of furniture, décor, housewares, and home improvement categories into one store- come be a part of it! We are seeking a Visual Lead to report directly to our in-store Retail Visual Merchandising Manager to help launch and lead all visual components and functions in the very first physical retail store. The Visual Lead is responsible for being an active contributor in overseeing the day-to-day operations throughout the store and the coaching/development of the Visual Specialists and Sales teams. This role will also assist the Retail Visual Merchandising Manager in the development and execution of all in-store Visual Merchandising initiatives (e.g. Presentation, Marketing/Signage, Merchandise Flow, Visual Operations, etc) as we bring the in-store experience for the Wayfair brand to life. This role requires a driven leader with a strong skillset in Visual Merchandising (Assessing, Planning and Execution), Analyzing Business Reports and using Sales data to drive decisions, Planning & Organization, Coaching a team through achieving results and aiding in their career development, and relentless customer focus. This role will play a significant role in helping to build and shape the internal Visual Merchandising team structure and execution of processes for all future Wayfair stores! This role is based in Wilmette, IL and reports to the store's Retail Visual Merchandising Manager. Essential Functions Support the Retail Visual Merchandising Manager with the training and development of all associates on Wayfair visual standards, Floorset interpretation and execution, adapting presentations based on inventory or sales opportunities, Marketing/Signage placement, lighting installations, basic electrical wiring, wallpapering, etc. Assist the Store Leadership team with providing helpful feedback and thoughtful guidance to the Visual Specialists, Sales and Operations teams to drive strong business results as well as support the growth and development of all associates to create an exceptional customer experience. Support the Retail Visual Merchandising Manager as needed with the planning and preparation of all Visual Merchandising tasks (Floorset/Visual Update execution, daily maintenance, Replenishment, Signage, VAS, etc). Be an owner and deliver results with agility using a strong Business Acumen skillset and the ability to analyze sales analytics tools to drive store profitability and growth in a way that supports the success of the store and Wayfair brand. Focus on building the best team by providing consistent, professional and encouraging in-the-moment coaching to all associates to support the allocated workload and tasks as determined by the Senior Retail Visual Merchandiser and General Manager. Depending on the scheduled work shift, this role may help open or close the store with keyholder responsibilities. Manage, maintain and monitor stock levels, receive and process merchandise, ensure items are properly stored in backstock and easily located in our system for efficient replenishment of product on the salesfloor as needed. Collaborate effectively with all other departments on a daily basis to ensure we are delivering on our commitment to providing customers with the best experience possible. Experience Qualifications 1-3 years Retail experience with a focus in Visual Merchandising and Driving Sales. Required 1-3 years Leadership experience motivating a team to achieve strong business results through Visual Merchandising and Brand Presentation. Required 1-3 years Experience in the Home or Furnishings space. Interior Design, furniture or home goods experience preferred. Preferred Experience installing lighting, wallpapering, furniture assembly, etc. Preferred Basic electrical wiring experience. Preferred Skills and Abilities Passion for Visual Merchandising and a drive to exceed sales targets. (High proficiency) An ability to read, interpret and execute a basic planogram and sales floor design layout map. (High proficiency) Track record of thriving in a fast-paced and changing environment while always demonstrating strong Leadership skills and professional maturity. (High proficiency) Strong organization, self-motivation, planning, communication and relationship management skills.
