We are seeking a Test Plan Technical Writer.
This role is located on-site in Ventura, CA.
Duties & Responsibilities:
ESN is looking for a Technical Writer to support Naval Surface Warfare Center Port Hueneme (NSWC-PHD) in their role developing and maintaining shipboard combat systems and weapon systems test plans and technical documentation. Candidate will:
- Organize, write, edit and publish operational, instructional, and engineering documentation using established standards for format, style, and terminology; analyze source data and create the most appropriate method of presentation in the applicable technical publication.
- Ensure the technical accuracy and quality of technical publications by applying quality control processes and checks during product development.
- Coordinate review of publication products with customers and track discrepancies noted through the review process.
- Candidate to also make required number of copies of the documents, assemble the copies of the test plans, pack for shipment and address/place shipping labels on boxes for FEDEX to pick up and deliver.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering procedures, reports, drawings and charts.
- Knowledge and experience of technical writing practices, graphics, and program applications.
- Strong organizational skills and judgment to plan and accomplish goals; excellent time management with an ability to set and maintain priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must hold an active Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET clearance.
