Job Description
The Technical Writer is responsible for coordinating, managing, writing, and developing compliant, complete, and compelling, proposals and request for information (RFIs) to capture new business opportunities, focused primarily on federal contracts. The ideal candidate should be a highly skilled and effective written and oral communicator. DigitalCM is on the leading edge of developing Virtual and Augmented Reality applications and is looking for a hard-working individual to help take our current applications above and beyond.
Job Summary
- Provide technical writing in support of the Business Development Proposal Process.
- Compose, refine, and review drafts of proposal responses, encompassing executive summaries, technical, management, past performance, as well as white papers, responses to Requests For Information (RFIs), and marketing materials
- Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including user guides, API documentation, release notes, and developer resources
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation
- Work closely with product development teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of information
- Interpret contract requirements and communicate compliance approach in both verbal and meeting presentation format
- Continuously improve documentation processes and standards to enhance the overall user experience
- Ensures writing is compliant with proposal criteria and instructions.
- Develops executive summary and leads proposal reviews.
- Coordinates with subcontractors and other prime contractors.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in technical writing, preferably in the VR/AR industry or related field
- Ability to establish and follow schedules and balance competing demands for limited resources.
- Ability to adapt communication style and messaging to different audiences
- Experience with documentation tools such as Markdown, DITA, or Confluence
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment
- Detail-oriented with a passion for accuracy and quality
- Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required)
- Comply with the provisions of the corporations Standard Practice Procedures manual and DoD 5220.22-M when handling classified material to include generating, marking, storing, handling, and destroying of classified material
Additional Skills
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) is a plus.
- Understanding of software development methodologies and gaming engines such as Unity and Unreal
- Knowledge of 3D graphics, animation, or game development is desirable.
