Position Overview:
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Events team is looking for a confident, highly motivated, and proactive Booker/Producer to drive speaker-oriented content for the Chamber’s high-profile events. The Booker/Producer is responsible for securing newsmakers, business thought leaders, and CEOs for a portfolio of events.
You perform your best under deadline pressure, have excellent people skills, and understand the importance of building and maintaining relationships with both potential guests and your co-workers. You thrive in a collaborative team environment and want to contribute to something great every day.
Responsibilities:
Source and book speakers for keynotes, panel discussions, and fireside conversations for high-level Chamber events under tight deadlines.
Pitch compelling and creative segment ideas for a diverse spectrum of events.
Conduct in-depth pre-interviews with guests and write briefing memos, questions, and speaker introductions for moderators.
Manage speaker logistics prior to and during high-profile events.
Maintain and grow an existing rolodex of relevant speakers.
Develop, document, and implement best practices and innovative ideas that continually raise the bar for events.
Stay on the cutting edge of new trends and contribute ideas to improve the quality of our content and sophistication of our productions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field of study.
2+ years of experience as a booker in broadcast news or a producer in event programming covering politics, business, current events, or other relevant topics.
A creative thinker with sound editorial judgment and the ability to find new and entertaining ways to present information, new angles to approach issues, and the organizational skills to bring it all together.
Critical and strategic thinking.
Ability to be persistent yet diplomatic.
Ability to work calmly under pressure and maintain a consistent work product while juggling multiple simultaneous projects.
A deep understanding of programmatic goals, audience profile, sponsor priorities, and Chamber messaging in the development of live and virtual event agendas.
The salary range for this position is $77,949.00 to $100,000.00. The actual salary paid for this position will vary based on market data, an applicant’s qualifications, relevant degrees, certifications, and other factors. Our full-time employees are eligible for benefits including healthcare, vision, dental, retirement, and paid leave.
