Kalepa Corporation
Wintern Marketing Intern 2024 (USA)
Kalepa Corporation, New York, New York, us, 10261
About Kalepa:
Commercial insurance is a trillion-dollar industry run out of Microsoft Outlook.
Kalepa is upending this.
Our state-of-the-art AI Copilot platform empowers underwriters to make smarter, faster, and more accurate decisions. Our AI is designed to deliver real results - insurers literally see massive improvements to their top and bottom lines as soon as they implement Copilot. That's why our clients call Copilot "truly an underwriter's dream" and proclaim that Copilot helps them "almost double the amount of accounts they can look at in the day."
Kalepa's team members bring experience from top technology companies, including Facebook, Google, Amazon, Mastercard, and Uber. Kalepa is backed by leading VCs like IA Ventures and Inspired Capital. Our Values (This is important):
Many organizations have a dusty list of corporate values that no one ever follows. Kalepa is not one of those companies. Our values are designed to unlock the potential of our employees.
Success at Kalepa is bred from five core principles: Hustle & Grit
- We expect everyone at Kalepa to be excellent at what they do and relentless in pursuing their craft. There are no easy days. Kalepa's exceptional speed and determination are our biggest differentiators: this is how we win. Customer Focus
- We will ruthlessly prioritize the work that drives our clients' growth, profitability, and efficiency. We are not building things just because they seem cool - we are here to solve our customers' most strategic problems. Meritocracy
- Too many exceptional people are stifled by corporate bureaucracies. At Kalepa, those people excel - and we reward tremendous results with rapid promotions and compensation growth. Transparency
- We are honest with each other. We don't believe in back-office politics and keeping employees in the dark. Transparency allows us to instantly cut to the heart of the matter and figure it out together. Experimentation
- For many of the problems we face, no company has ever solved them before. We tackle these by quickly testing, measuring, and iterating to determine the path to success. In addition to our NY office, we have remote employees speaking 10+ languages across the globe. But we invest in bringing our people together both for regional meetups and global offsites (2021 - Playa Del Carmen | 2022 - Rome | 2023 - Buenos Aires | 2024 - Lisbon).
Kalepa's culture isn't for everyone, and that's ok. But for the people who are a fit, they can't imagine working elsewhere.
About the Role:
Kalepa is looking for an exceptional marketing intern for a high-impact, full-throttle internship at a fast-growing AI software company. You will report directly to the Director of Marketing - Chris D'Angelo '16 - and work closely with Kalepa's executive leadership team.
This is not a coffee-fetching internship. We'll be counting on you to deliver real impact right away, and you will have the opportunity to touch many aspects of the company and our marketing operations.
Kalepa's marketing team works closely with the broader commercial team (Sales, Customer success, RevOps) and on occasion with our technical team (product managers, software engineers) to tell Kalepa's story to our prospective clients. These are large accounts with Fortune 500 companies, so nailing our marketing efforts is critical.
You will be working at the very heart of our marketing operations, meaning you will have the opportunity to contribute across the marketing stack. This could include:
Enhancing Kalepa's core branding and messaging as we continue to grow our product and target market Building out content, messaging, and campaigns for targeted niches Assisting with advertising strategy, experimentation, and execution Producing differentiated content for Kalepa's external channels (LinkedIn, email, YouTube, etc.) "Other duties as assigned." Kalepa is a fast-moving startup, and we are very responsive to developments in the AI space and with our customers. If we see demand for something - and you have the interests and skills for it - we'll move quickly to take advantage. The ideal candidate will work hybrid from our New York City headquarters or our regional office in Raleigh, NC. Remote candidates will also be considered. This will be a 10 week internship (flexible on this) with a competitive stipend.
About You:
You're ready to learn new things. By the end of this internship, you will be better at some things than anyone you go to school with - and anyone at Kalepa. We want someone who is excited to learn quickly and at times independently to Make It Happen. You enjoy storytelling. You like understanding what is important to people and crafting narratives to address the things that pain them and offer solutions to their problems You are a top-notch writer, both grammatically and creatively. You can take rough ideas, iterate on the message and story, and produce highly compelling writing You love technology. You want to pursue a career at a tech company - even if it's not in marketing - and get boots on the ground at a startup that is using AI to make a real impact on an important industry You get stuff done. You can take a task from beginning to end quickly and with exceptional quality. As a plus
You have digital creative skills (e.g., graphic design, video editing, print layout) You have previous marketing / internship / startup experience You have experience leveraging AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Perplexity, Midjourney) to accelerate your work We do not expect you to have any industry background in insurance - most people we hire do not, but they learn quickly.
