Responsibilities:
Assumes responsibility for the grants contract and compliance schedule, ensuring that all contracts are billed timely and in compliance with individual requirements. Monitors the timely renewal of all government contracts. Responsible for on-boarding of all new contracts.
Supervises the accounting staff in the preparation of monthly contract and grant vouchers to ensure reimbursement of program expenses, including assembling all required documentation. Review and signs off on all vouchers. Reviews journal entries and ensures that the general ledger accurately represents the vouchers billed.
Responsible for up to date knowledge of individual funder requirements and ensures that staff are trained and utilizing required procedures.
Monitor cash collections and communicates with funders as needed to ensure timely payment. Monthly reporting of outstanding receivables per bank requirements.
Responsible for knowledge of specialized reporting processes including OMH CFR, HHS Accelerator, HUD timesheets and HUD PRAC and other processes as needed.
On a regular basis proactively monitors actual vs. budget reports for all grants. Responsible for fiscal compliance and report timeliness. Interface with program staff in the preparation of the annual budgets for these programs.
Responsible for the accuracy of monthly payroll entries and related fringes. Monitor timely receipt of HUD timesheets. Ensure accuracy of staff allocations. Report monthly staffing vacancies as required to government funders.
Responsible for the annual audit contracts schedule and related interface with audit staff annually.
Primary responsibility to prepare ad hoc budgets in collaboration with the grant writer and the program staff as requested for funding applications or RFPs.
Oversees the cash receipts and tenant rent billing cycle working with the accounts receivable clerk to ensure that postings are made accurately and are agreed to the financial reports. Will also support the AR clerk with tenant rent adjustments entry and review.
Other duties as assigned.
Desired qualifications:
Bachelor degree in accounting or similar field.
5-7 years of related experience with government grants, and non-profit accounting
Demonstrative knowledge of accounting theory and principles.
Strong Excel skills, including spreadsheet creation, pivot tables, formulas.
This role is offering a salary of $125,000-$135,000 depending on experience.
