Summer Staff Videographer (Independent Contractor)

The AMFS Summer Staff Videographer captures the essential events and experiences of the eight-week summer season and creates videos that showcase the spirit of the festival. Assignments include but are not limited to concerts, operas, family events, panels, parties/galas, lessons, rehearsals, venues, landscapes, student lifestyle, and interviews with guest artists, artist-faculty, and/or students. Videographer will produce professional segments for use on AMFS social media channels, website, and for various other institutional needs. Schedule flexibility is essential; evenings and weekends are regular. Position is an independent contractor and the AMFS has full rights to all videos and video clips taken during this nine-week time frame. The Videographer can post videos created for the AMFS on their personal website or social media channels with acknowledgement that they were created for the AMFS.
Responsibilities
Take video clips of the Festival events, performances, and people as assigned. Must have day-of turnaround of select clips for social media use and next-day turnaround for longer edits. Capture and edit videos for social media campaigns (approx. 2-3 assignments/week), including but not limited to student and guest artist features, weekly highlight reels, day in the life videos, etc. Capture, edit, and compile solo, orchestral, and other performance video clips throughout the 8-week festival for year-round use on social media (approximately 5 assignments/week). Other video project institutional needs such as highlighting student programs, donor events, livestream content, etc., as assigned. Take videos of Festival events and people proactively at unassigned events (students busking in downtown Aspen, etc.) Shooting approx. 5 days/week, 1-2 events/assignments day. Some weeks may be lighter and some heavier. Social media intern will be available to assist for larger projects as needed. Requirements
Must have and bring high-quality equipment capable of capturing professional footage, microphone, computer, and software appropriate for video processing. Must have suitable, high-quality phone camera for quick turnaround clips. Must be proficient with video editing. Position requires ability to edit and compile video clips, including adding graphics, captions, audio, and transitions as needed. Must have ability to be on time, work within a constrained classical concert environment, and respond to changing priorities. Professional conduct and appearance are necessary at all times. Must have a car while in Aspen. Familiarity with classical music is a plus. Dates

Compensation
Compensation is based on experience level and will be determined at point of hire.
