We are looking for a dedicated Director, Communications & Community Engagement like you to be a part of our team. Job Summary and Qualifications The Methodist Children's Hospital Director, Communications and Community Engagement is an extension of the Marketing and Corporate Affairs team working onsite at local hospitals to support promotion of the Methodist Healthcare System, as well as the systems growth agenda. The position reports directly to AVP, Strategic Communications with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Hospital CEO. This individual sits on the hospitals administrative leadership team playing a critical role in representing the Methodist Healthcare mission, purpose and strategic vision via the hospital setting, both internally and externally, by identifying opportunities to engage stakeholders through productive communication and relationship building.
?The Director participates in the development and execution of communications and community engagement plans for the hospitals local market, and supports marketing efforts in alignment with System and Corporate/Group-developed objectives, strategies and tactics for Marketing and Corporate Affairs. Keeping current in terms of community needs, issues and opportunities relevant to the organization, the Director drives collaboration and execution of community engagement activities and serves as the lead hospital communicator. What you will do in this role: Communications: Assists CEO and other officers with communication needs including messaging related to colleague engagement. Supports development and implementation of the strategic PR and Communications plan to meet organizational needs and support hospital business and growth goals. Proactively develops content to drive engagement across owned, earned and paid media channels. Proactively pitches compelling stories to local media outlets. Manages crisis communications and serves as an on-call public information representative. Stays abreast of hospital news, trends, services and objectives. Acts as a local advocate for the adherence to marketing and communications specific policies in partnership with the Facility Ethics and Compliance Officer. Consistently monitors patient comments and reviews about the hospital and its physicians in order to provide timely response to positive engagements and speedy service recovery for negative comments/reviews. Community Engagement: Serves as a conduit to communicate Enterprise, Group and System community engagement strategies to facility leadership. Drives engagement programs and activities to heighten our positive reputation within the community. Supports strategy for hospitals Board of Trustees regarding composition and engagement. Identifies meaningful healthcare-related community engagement activities in the hospitals service area that complement the organizations goals. Supports and coordinates events and programs in coordination with the System and hospital goals and designed to raise awareness of the submarkets capabilities and strengths. Supports aspects of colleague community engagement, including giving campaigns for the community and our HCA Healthcare Hope Fund, volunteering and board service in collaboration with Human Resources.? Marketing: Serves as a conduit to communicate Enterprise, Group and System marketing strategies to facility leadership. Provides facility insights to feed System/regional marketing plans, including access to service line leaders, subject matter experts and other key leaders. Leads local brand management activities to ensure stakeholders are educated, knowledgeable and engaged on our brand strategies, including proper use of logos and marks. Partners with System team to activate local marketing and brand strategies. Acts in supportive role for marketing tactics applicable to Physician & Provider Relations/Physician Service Group needs. Supports System/Corporate growth agenda. Partners with the Marketing Services Organization to develop content (includes web and social content) and manage hospital collateral items such as fliers, brochures, rack cards, etc. Other projects as assigned What qualifications you will need: Bachelors degree required 1+ year(s) of experience in a management role 5 years of experience in a related position HCA Healthcare has been recognized as one of the Worlds Most Ethical Companies by the Ethisphere Institute more than ten times.
