Description: Emory Law welcomes qualified, mission-focused communication professionals to apply for its Communications Specialist position. The Communications Specialist will join the Emory Law Communication team to work collaboratively and proactively with students, faculty, alumni, and staff to ensure the school effectively leverages its social media and web presence as part of its overall communication strategy.?As a subject matter expert on social media engagement, the Communications Specialist utilizes their knowledge of school priorities, university policy, and best practices to effective, appropriate engagement from the constituencies served by the school. ??? KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Website Responsibilities: Assist in the design, oversight, and update of Emory Law websites to educate and to promote activities and programs. Coordinate Emory Law website updates with other related websites while assisting other Emory Law employees with the design and ongoing updates of affiliated webpages and websites as appropriate. Responsible for assigned sections or duties related to the school website to include updating and refreshing website content regularly, including periodic updates of content based on the academic school year or ABA policy. Assist in the monitoring of and reporting on key operational metrics and campaign outcomes, as needed. Social Media Management: Participate in the development and management of the law schools social media strategy, aligning with university standards and collaborating with university social media managers regularly. Manage Emory Laws presence on social networking sites including Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Threads, TikTok, and emerging platforms as appropriate, developing editorial guidelines and engaging law school staff, faculty, alumni, and students, as appropriate. Plan, write and design for, and execute independent and campus-wide campaigns and posts, maintaining tone and brand standards, and gathering performance data. Perform crisis monitoring and response as needed, providing training for faculty and staff. Maintain administrative privileges for all affiliated law school and social media accounts to ensure adherence to social media policies. Create social media assets and copy, take photographs and videos, and edit/post social graphics, often using social media monitoring/posting software. General Administrative Duties: Serve as an internal digital marketing consultant for programs and services. Assist staff in creating digital forms, as appropriate. May supervise or provide direction to staff and may lead projects, as assigned. Additional responsibilities, as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree in digital marketing, mass communications, social strategy/management, or a related field. Three years of related experience. An equivalent combination of experience, education, and training shall be considered. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience working with various technologies including design and video editing software, web content management systems, email marketing platforms, and social media aggregators. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Cascade, Falcon.io, WordPress, Wufoo, Canva, Qualtrics, and Mailchimp is preferred. Basic understanding of HTML and CSS. Understanding and experience of best practices in web/mobile design and functionality, social media, e-communications/texting, accessibility, and web analytics. Strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. Excellent project and time management skills; demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and thrive in a dynamic environment. Experience in a client-facing support position, including demonstrated clear, professional communication (both written and verbal). Demonstrated student-centered service. Strong technology skills and demonstrated proficiency with social media as demonstrated through a portfolio or sample submission. Demonstrated creativity in the design of marketing and communications materials. Ability to work through barriers to productivity, including interruptions or ambiguity. Experience in higher education, specifically within a graduate or professional school. Strong attention to detail. Demonstrated capacity for carrying out tasks in an accurate and timely Ability to recognize, set, and communicate priorities. Enthusiasm to master new skills. Good judgment as demonstrated by inclusive decision making and effective problem-solving skills. To Apply: ?
