We help everyday runners become outstanding by providing world-class training, coaching and community for everyone, whether you're improving your 5k time or training for your first marathon. To date we have built iOS, Android and Apple watch apps that help people achieve their goals by coaching them through the full journey and syncing to their favourite fitness devices.

We're growing extremely fast and in November 2023 closed a new $6.5M funding round led by JamJar with participation from Eka Ventures, Venrex and Creator Ventures. Our aim is to reach millions of subscribers in the next 5 years and be the go-to training platform for any runner. What you'll be doing

Reporting into the Performance Marketing Lead, you'll be responsible for creating compelling visual content that helps drive performance marketing campaigns across our core paid media channels. You'll work closely with the Creative Manager to execute campaigns that bring the Runna brand to life and engage our audience.
  • Photography - shooting and editing photos to build up our library of great content for use in ads and Runna communications
  • Social media graphic design - designing graphics for our performance marketing campaigns whether that's Instagram ads, Tiktok ads, Google ads or a new channel completely.
  • Video Content creation - filming and editing videos to produce full funnel, thumb-stopping performance marketing assets.
  • UGC collation - working with our ambassadors to create next level content that can be used across our performance marketing.
  • Campaign ideation - helping to come up with ideas and performance marketing campaigns across the year whether that's more strategic and planned or timely in response to current events or new product features.
  • Supporting the Creative Manager in reviewing creative assets produced by external agencies, ensuring that every piece of content proudly represents the Runna brand and that consistent branding is maintained across all creative outputs.
  • Coming to events and helping capture content that can be used on all of our channels (and generally getting involved in startup bits and bobs!)
Please note: this role does not include the management or production of content for organic social media channels.

Bringing Visual Ideas to Life: You have a passion for creating stunning visuals, whether through photography, graphic design, or video. You know how to capture the essence of a brand in every piece of content you create, and you thrive on producing eye-catching visuals that resonate with audiences.

Designing for Impact: You understand the power of design in driving performance. You're skilled at creating graphics for social media and ad campaigns that not only look great but also convert. You can design with different platforms in mind, ensuring your work is optimized for Instagram, TikTok, Google ads, and beyond.

Collaborating with Creators and Ambassadors: You love working with brand ambassadors and influencers to gather user-generated content (UGC) that feels authentic. You know how to guide them to create content that aligns with the brand while still maintaining their personal voice.

Working in a Fast-Paced Environment: You thrive in a startup environment, where speed and adaptability are key. You're comfortable juggling multiple projects, executing with precision, and delivering high-quality work on tight timelines.

Contributing to a Mission-Driven Brand: You're eager to contribute to a brand that's helping people improve their lives through running, and you understand how to craft content that inspires and engages a fitness-focused audience.

What experience we're looking for

We care the most about you looking at the 'We're looking for someone that loves...' section and thinking 'Wow this role was made for me'. That said, we do need you to have 1.5+ years professional experience within a graphic design / content creation role OR a degree in graphic design or equivalent (bonus points if you have both!)
About you:
  • Very confident doing graphic design in Figma/Canva/Photoshop or similar
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating ability to follow brand/campaign guidelines
  • Experience in shooting and editing high-quality images that can be used across digital channels and marketing materials. You know how to capture compelling visuals that tell a story and elevate brand identity.
  • Proven track record of creating super cool digital content
  • Able to think outside the box with innovative campaigns
  • Able to create fun and engaging captions
  • You're organised, efficient, and can execute at pace
  • You (hopefully!) love running and you're passionate about our mission to make running training effective, easy and enjoyable for everyone
  • You're Boston based (or able to work in person 2+ days per week)
Bonus Points if:
  • You've worked with Figma or a similar tool before.
  • You're confident capturing and editing video content (e.g.PremierPro/ AfterEffects/ InShot/ CapCut)
Interview process

Our aim is to keep the interview process as straightforward and enjoyable as possible, and will consist of the following stages:
  1. Kick off! Please apply here along with the asset requested below
    1. Asset for application: As part of the initial application and to better assess you alongside your CV, we'd like you to produce an instagram static ad that could be used by Runna to acquire new users. We're looking for your creative inspiration and visual execution!
  2. Introductory chat with Calum, Creative Manager (25 minutes video call)
  3. Take Home Task & interview (50 minutes virtual interview with Calum and Laura, Performance Marketing Lead)
  4. Meet the team (40 minutes virtual interview with Miranda, Head of Growth and Dom, CEO)
  5. Office visit (in-person chat with Lou, General Manager (USA) and a chance to meet the team in Boston!)

Benefits and options

We offer a salary of $65,000 - $75,000 (depending on experience), plus substantial equity in the form of Runna stock options.

We'll be growing our package of benefits over time. We currently offer:
  • Flexible working (we typically work 2-3 days in our office in Harvard Square)
