About the Opportunity: SSC is seeking a diverse and dynamic Program Manager to join its Creative Arts Therapies team. This position plays a critical role in the ongoing success and growth of the Conservatory and its commitment to the community. The Program Manager has clinical oversight of music therapy and dance therapy programming and independently manages a caseload of music therapy clients, providing both individual and group music therapy. He/she/they will ensure that Creative Arts Therapies services abide by the standards of the fields of music therapy and dance therapy as well as reflect the mission of South Shore Conservatory. This position reports directly to the Director of Community Engagement and serves as a key representative of the Creative Arts Therapies team. SSC’s Creative Arts Therapies uses music therapy and dance therapy to enhance wellness among children and adults with a wide range of health and developmental challenges. Services are provided in individual and group sessions at SSC facilities, in client homes, and through partnerships with several South Shore community organizations, including schools, long-term care facilities, group homes, and senior centers. The ideal candidate is self-directed and passionate about providing quality music therapy services to a variety of clients of all ages and backgrounds. Responsibilities - Essential Functions and Skills Partner with the Director of Community Engagement to develop and implement both short-term and long-term strategies for the team, focusing on current and future goals and exploring potential expansion opportunities. Collaborate with SSC's Enrollment and Creative Arts Therapies team members on client placement, ensuring alignment between client/family needs and program offerings for optimal fit. Partner with the Director of Community Engagement to connect the needs of community partners with Creative Arts Therapies offerings, building and maintaining effective partnerships and maximizing program impact. Provide clinical supervision to a team of highly skilled and motivated music and dance therapists to ensure high quality client care. Plan, design, and implement goal-directed music therapy sessions for groups and individuals with diverse abilities, skills, and needs, in a variety of settings. Prepare and maintain music therapy session plans, observations, progress reports, attendance, and materials as needed. Lead music and other creative arts therapists to develop and deliver effective and relevant treatment. Support efforts to engage and educate SSC faculty and staff on best practices for creating an inclusive, accessible environment. Maintain board certification (MT-BC) through continuing education. Participate in individual and group supervision as scheduled. Adhere to the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice, as set forth by the American Music Therapy Association and the Certification Board for Music Therapy. Promote and support SSC programs and activities that align with the organization’s mission. Participate in required SSC and departmental meetings and professional development. Supervise creative arts therapies practicum students and interns as appropriate. Provide additional administrative support as needed. Education, Experience, and Qualifications Minimum of Bachelor’s in Music Therapy; Master’s preferred. Board Certification in Music Therapy (CBMT certification), with at least 3 years of experience as a Music Therapist. Experience providing clinical supervision and/or managing others strongly preferred. Proficiency of clinical musicianship on piano, guitar, and voice. Ability to improvise using a variety of drums and other rhythm/percussion instruments. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and intrapersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary team members. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Highly developed oral and written communication skills. Important Information The salary range for this position is $60-$65K annually with a $500 signing bonus. This job operates in professional environments. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets. The job will require going out in the field and visiting clients. This position is mostly sedentary outside of travel. This would require the ability to sit at a desk, frequent walking, bending, or standing as necessary. The schedule is primarily Monday-Friday, but may also include weekends, nights, and early mornings based on the needs of the organization. Travel is required to clients throughout the South Shore.
