This opportunity entails applying senior-level technical expertise to our pursuit and project teams, nationwide. This position will lead teams in developing integrated design deliverables on multi-discipline transportation engineering projects. Deliverable development will be through the use of the latest design and collaboration software platforms to successfully accomplish HNTB’s 4 for 4 performance: delivery of quality work, on time, on budget and to the client’s satisfaction on every project. The Technician Specialist will participate in firm-wide forums to carry best practices and lessons learned to subsequent projects. This position coordinates with internal and external partners including cross-discipline and functional teams to ensure successful project delivery. The Technician Specialist - Engineering typically works as a project production lead on Mega (>$5M) or Super-Mega (>$25M) projects. What You’ll Do: Utilizes as technical resource in project meetings and project design for area of specialty. Researches best practices and maintains outside contact with other specialists. Acts as an internal and external point-of-contact for specialty area(s). Develops and advises others in related subject matter. Prepares technical presentations, reports, and analysis in area of specialty. Interacts regularly with clients at the staff level. May perform technical reviews for other projects in area of specialty. May be responsible for leading the work of a project team in area of specialty and coordinating work with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects. Performs other duties as assigned. What You’ll Need: Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology or related field and 10 years of relevant experience, or Associate of Science in Drafting or Technical School or related and 12 years of relevant experience, or In lieu education, 14 years of relevant experience What You Will Bring: Advise and oversee project teams on design integration and automated production nationwide, engaged in delivering complex transportation engineering design-build projects. Explore, propose, and advise project leadership on the implementation of design software and delivery workflow innovations across all disciplines to support HNTB’s 4 for 4 performance: delivery of quality work, on time, on budget and to the client’s satisfaction. Coordinate with Corporate Delivery Technology to communicate project requirements, train staff on new design applications/techniques and support specific project needs. Implementation of Bentley/Autodesk applications in project delivery. Ensure the implementation and operation of delivery technology applications (mentioned above) on Design-Build projects nationwide. Assist in the development and implementation of CADD Management and BIM Execution Plans. Mentor and develop skills of junior staff. What We Prefer: Bachelor's Degree 10+ years related experience Design Build project leadership experience on major highway, bridge, airport or transit projects. Experience with the Bentley suite of applications including but not limited to Projectwise, Bentley InRoads, OpenRoads, and OpenRoads Designer. Working knowledge of AutoDesk design products which may include AutoCAD, Civil 3D, AutoDesk Construction Cloud, Revit, and Navisworks. Ability to progress multiple tasks at the same time on accelerated schedules. Strong communication and oral presentation skills across all levels of the organization.
