Job Description SummaryCAD Surfacing Designer responsible for complex class-A 3D surfacing modeling of Industrial Design concepts. In this role, the Surfacing Designer will work closely with the global Industrial Design team and will interact with two other Surface Designers on our team. Industrial Designers (typically using CREO or Rhino) will create initial 3D concepts which will then be handed off to the Surfacing Designer to complete. The majority of these designs are intended to be injection molded plastic, molded fiberglass, or similar materials. Once the complex class-A 3D surface models are complete, they are handed off to engineering teams who will add bosses, ribs, and other engineered components to get the models 'tooling ready'.Activities contributing to the design and development of products, solutions and systems. Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team. Executes standard operational/technical tasks typically subject to instructions and work routines. May include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills and will require working with global teams in different time zones.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree from an accredited university or college or a high school diploma / GED with at least 3 years of experience in parametric 3D modeling for plastic part design.Desired CharacteristicsStrong oral and written communication skills.
