Description
Partner with internal and external stakeholders and physicians to assess learning needs and recommend appropriate technology-based and blended solutions. Design and develop technology-based learning modules and paper-based instructional materials. Establish guidelines and standards for online course development.
Qualifications
Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree Concentration in instructional design, education or related field (Required)
Minimum Work Experience
5 years Instructional design experience (including full project life cycle; assessment, strategy, design, programming, testing & launch). (Required)
Required Skills/Knowledge
Competent in oral and written communications.
Effective leadership and interpersonal skills.
In-depth, hands-on knowledge of authoring technologies, intranet design tools and multimedia applications including Adobe Captivate, Flash, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, Soft Chalk, SharePoint and Snag IT.
Knowledge of adult learning theory and key instructional design methodologies.
Ability to use the A.D.D.I.E. model to create learning solutions.
Experience administering Learning Management Systems (LMS) and technical knowledge and skills a plus, including research skills.
Strong conceptual thinking; ability to take raw content and create curriculum that supports delivering an engaging learning experience.
Functional Accountabilities
Recommend Technology Based Solutions
Consult and interact with subject matter experts and stakeholders to assess technology needs.
Demonstrate problem solving and analytical skills in working with all stakeholders.
Collaborate to develop project goals, train objectives and measurement by analyzing needs and proposing multiple solutions.
Share expertise and provide support to multiple stakeholders regarding web-based learning projects.
Design, develop and implement ongoing enterprise level technology based training solutions
Work collaboratively with internal/external stakeholders to create high quality digital media, which can be delivered through internal and external learning management systems, including mobile devices, blended learning modules, and other media.
Manage the implementation of projects including work plans, scheduling resources, data collection, interfaces, training, testing and software documentation; supervise all phases of assigned projects.
Distribute resources across multiple programs based on the prioritization and capacity planning process.
Manage priorities, workflow, and multiple projects simultaneously; maintain control over quality, cost, and schedule.
Provide support for software maintenance including instruction, testing and training for new and existing departmental systems; Responsible for coordinating a maintenance schedule for all e-learning.
Manage education and training processes & activities to foster learning using strategies that engage learners in critical inquiry, critical thinking and problem solving and develop competence in learners.
Evaluation and Measurement
Work with Vice Chair for Medical Education to evaluate program initiatives for effectiveness, feasibility and cost.
Work with Vice Chair for Medical Education to develop, implement and evaluate projects and performance standards to achieve blended learning technology throughout the institution.
Ensure whenever possible, evaluation and metrics used to demonstrate quality improvement and Return On Investment (ROI) through direct revenue stream or operational savings.
Evaluate customer service response.
