If you think the open position you see is right for you, we encourage you to apply!Our people make all the difference in our success.Compensation GradeACE-USD-32GThe Pipe Designer leverages creativity and understanding of mechanical equipment to design, maintain, and improve the physical assets of the organization by creating drawings and material take-offs for the construction, operation, and layout of these systems.Environment:Internal:DesigningMaintenance planningProject schedulesFacility constructionExternal:ComplianceAsset Care StrategyVendorsCustomer serviceEconomic conditionsTechnological advancementsRegulations and standardsAccountabilities of the job: Accountability 1: Safety: Process Safety Information (PSI)Requires that the incumbent commit to learning, following, and practicing INEOS 20 Principles of Process & Behavioral Safety as applicable to the position.Update PSI for the plant which is maintained by the Engineering department such as P&ID's, electrical schematics drawings, as well as specification sheetsEnsures that PSI is updated in response to MOC's, capital projects, maintenance projects or any other source of improvements which affect the PSI of the plant.Assure the safety of employees and contractors through compliance with the OSHA standards, ANSI standards, INEOS Acetyls policies and procedures, and other agencies' safety regulations, standards, and/or guidelines.Actively participate in company and client hazard identification and observation programs, and immediately report any unsafe acts, conditions, or incidents to supervision.Accountability 2: Mechanical DesignPrepare detailed design drawings for in-house Front End Engineering Designs (FEED) and detailed design drawings for fast track projects.Revise existing and create new mechanical drawings, layouts, piping isometrics, structural steel, specifications and bills of materials, with the guidance of an engineer.Assemble and issue design packages that will be utilized for construction purposes.Provide mechanical design assistance throughout all phases of projects including commissioning and start-up.Prepare process flow diagrams (PFD), piping & instrument diagrams (P&ID), general equipment layouts, facility plot plans, and equipment lists for plant, pipeline and related facilities construction projects.Provide design support for routine requests from maintenance and operations personnel.Collect and deliver design and engineering data to both internal and external partnersTrack progress for jobs and projects and coordinate with supervisionReview vendor and in-house coordination drawings to ensure compliance with project requirementsProvide support during equipment installation to ensure design specifications are met.Collaborate on projects to ensure designs are practical, cost effective and meet all relevant regulations and standards.Communicate with vendors to review equipment availability, equipment cost, and installation requirements.Prepare parts lists, procurement lists, bills of material (BOM) and specifications when drawings are complete. Revise lists, drawings and BOM consistent with engineering changes.Assist with performing field surveys, documenting existing conditions, and/or recommending various design solutions.Check field red-lined drawings and generate accurate as-built drawings as needed.Analyze the effect of proposed changes for proper fit and/or interference problems and recommend possible solutions or alternate construction options.Produce drawings and deliverables utilizing company standards within project-approved schedule and budget.Maintain proper file management in accordance with company and industry standards.Support drawing and information generation for excavation permit development.Required profile:Level of Education & Knowledge: Associate degree in Engineering Technology or Computer-Aided Drafting is required.10+ years of experience in the Mechanical design field in a refinery, midstream or petrochemical industry.Experience & Technical Skills:Experience in computer-aided design software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorksUnderstanding of ANSI/ISO/ASME drafting methods (GD&T), standards and procedures.The ability to use calipers, micrometers, scales, and other basic measuring tools.Understanding of manufacturing processes and techniques and be to optimize designs for manufacturability and cost.Experience with Microsoft SuiteMust have basic use and knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.Competencies & Behavioral SkillsMust have good attention to detail and the ability to use various design tools and software.Strong problem-solving skills and an excellent understanding of mathematics.Ability to react promptly and efficiently shift priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.Ability to elicit cooperation from a variety of sources including team members, project managers, and other disciplines.Strong written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and presentation skills.Capability to conduct independent research into project-related issues and products.
