Our Global Architecture & Urbanism Division combines the expertise of IBI’s Buildings and Placemaking practice, our Places’ capabilities, and CRTKL’s multi-sector design leadership to offer a diverse range of solutions focusing on human-centric design, sustainability, and technology.
Arcadis is seeking a talented Computational Designer to join our data-driven design team, focusing on urban scale projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects including neighbourhood master plans, TOD, transit planning, streetscape design, residential development, and transit technology for both public and private sector clients. The ideal candidate will possess strong data skills and the ability to build computational models throughout all phases of urban design and planning. Our team offers flexibility regarding the candidate's location. The successful candidate will have the option to work from any of our offices throughout the United States or remotely.

Role accountabilities:
Develop and implement computational design strategies for urban planning projects, including modeling, documentation, visualization, and data analytics
Research and provide context for planning projects, including zoning, relevant local laws, housing policies, and local initiatives.
Gather, clean, and organize data for project use
Engage directly with clients to understand their goals and outline project requirements
Lead portions of projects under the supervision of computational design leadership
Incorporate planning fundamentals and principles into computational models
Advance parametric and GIS capabilities within the computational design practice
Contribute to growing the Computational Design team’s presence within the company's broader planning division
Qualifications:
Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning/Design, Civil Engineering, Geography, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, or a related field
Experience with master planning, affordable housing, urban design or transit planning
Strong skills in Rhino, Grasshopper, and GIS, with the ability to quickly learn new tools and proceeses
Inquisitive and self-motivated individual with excellent organizational skills
Ability to multi-task and maintain precision and attention to detail
Ability to deliver high-quality work within challenging project timeframes and deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in programming languages, particularly Python and C# would be a plus
Familiarity with machine learning applications in urban planning and design would be a plus
Understanding of current planning and design issues across multiple disciplines would be a plus
