Role Summary We are looking for a people leader and digital marketer with UX/UI experience to head up our Digital Marketing team and drive forward our strategy. This role provides an exciting opportunity for you to help shape our growing Digital Marketing organization as we usher the company and our agents towards digital-focused marketing efforts. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of individual contributors and helping to guide and deliver our digital marketing strategy, which includes social media, agent digital enablement, website and content governance, marketing automation and multi-channel acquisition strategies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Manages a team of individual contributors, each responsible for different digital marketing tactics/lane. Provide leadership to Digital Marketing team – including the development of goals, performance management, employee development, workload prioritization, strategy, and tactic refinement and ongoing reporting. Own and drive forward National Life’s digital marketing strategy, including social media, agent enablement, website and content governance, marketing automation and multi-channel acquisition strategies. Responsible for strategy, management and governance of NationalLife.com and any additional web properties. Evolve the web site to create a strong online presence for National Life Group that fuels our growth, builds the brand, and educates and guides visitors at all stages of the decision-making cycle. Help shape, maintain, and execute a roadmap of web projects, deliverables, and initiatives. Develop processes and procedures to ensure projects are prioritized by impact and delivered on time. Manage external agencies and service providers to support SEO efforts and/or other projects, as needed. Oversees and champions marketing automation activities and platform management. Drives multi-channel acquisition strategies, including search, social, paid, retargeting and e-mail marketing. Drives the lead management program and process with our distribution partners to manage prospects through various stages of the funnel. Collaborate across teams, including practice strategy, content strategy, channel marketing, and external agencies to ensure web plans align with strategic initiatives. Partner closely with various teams to ensure website consistent with UX and SEO best practices and style guidelines. Responsible for ensuring web information architecture, navigation, customer journey is clear, compelling and consistent for desktop and mobile. Help evolve and present full-funnel website metrics. Clearly understand site performance, analyze trends and business results, and use this data to develop new actions to improve results. Minimum Qualifications 12+ years of progressive experience in digital marketing. Knowledge of insurance and financial services and/or B2B2C experience a plus. 8 years of experience in web site strategy, including UX/UI and overall governance. Working knowledge of HTML and web authoring languages. Experience with Sitecore and Wordpress a plus. 5 years of progressive people leader experience. Ability to effectively manage and influence a team while balancing own work. A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, technology, computer science or related field. Demonstration of critical thinking capabilities, exceptionally analytical and quantitative; an ability to turn data into marketing recommendations. A track record translating strategy into tangible outcomes. Experience building and managing multi-channel acquisition strategies, including but not limited to search, social, paid, retargeting and email marketing. Working knowledge of marketing automation and CRM platforms and GTM. Experience with Salesforce, Salesforce Marketing Cloud and/or Ad Tech a plus. Social media engagement and content strategy experience. Strong relationship-building and business-partnering experience across multiple departments; ability to successfully collaborate cross-functionally to achieve company goals. Excellent writing, presentation, editorial and communications skills are required, along with the ability to manage multiple projects dealing with multiple constituencies. Experience managing and completing cross-team projects; Ability to project manage/prioritize multiple projects simultaneously. Naturally curious and driven to find creative solutions that others haven’t considered; Have an A/B testing and optimization mindset. Positive energy, a team player who thrives on the thrill of scaling new, innovative solutions, and enjoys being part of a high-energy collaborative team. Analytics oriented with a strong follow through and high sense of urgency. Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills; willing to improve the knowledge and skills of those on the team. Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions. Proven ability to develop and present strategies, with minimal oversight, and then execute on deliverables.
