Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Media Technician to join our microbiology testing lab. The primary focus of this role is to prepare and maintain microbiological media and reagents used in the testing of beef and poultry products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in microbiology and laboratory practices, with a keen eye for accuracy and quality.
Responsibilities
You will be on your feet for the majority of the shift. The shift will be Monday - Friday from 12pm to 8pm

Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Media Technician to join our microbiology testing lab. The primary focus of this role is to prepare and maintain microbiological media and reagents used in the testing of beef and poultry products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in microbiology and laboratory practices, with a keen eye for accuracy and quality.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and sterilize microbiological media and reagents according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure the proper labeling, storage, and inventory management of media and reagents.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety and quality protocols.
- Assist in the calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Collaborate with microbiologists and other lab personnel to support testing activities.
- Document all media preparation activities accurately and promptly in laboratory records.
- Participate in quality control procedures to ensure the reliability and accuracy of prepared media.
- Handle and dispose of biohazardous materials following established guidelines.
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques and laboratory safety protocols.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and software.
