Job Description Summary

The Student Social Media Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and executing social media strategies for the Title III HIPPS Grant program. This role will be instrumental in establishing and increasing their social media presence and gaining visibility for this office. This position will also assist with other marketing projects and initiatives for the grant such as program flyers, pamphlets, posters etc. The position may also assist with other administrative duties as needed in the office

This position will consist of 10-20 hours of work per week. A minimum of 10 hours in the office required.

Specific Duties

Maintain relevant social media outlets for the Title III HIPPS Grant.
Report to the Associate Director, collaborate with other offices to ensure a cohesive social media identity, and create original content for social media outlets.
Generate a social media calendar for social media outlets
Respond to/refer inquiries through social media (i.e. replying to comments and direct messages)
Build following on social media outlets by using strategic planning (i.e. utilizing hashtags, engaging with related accounts, etc.)
Research and identify best practices regarding social media usage with similar offices across the nation
Monitor the analytics of the posts
Assist with other marketing efforts as assigned
Assist with other administrative duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of social media outlets
Creativity and vision while generating visually appealing, multimedia content
Excellent communication skills
Exceptional organization skills
Outstanding writing skills
Great Attention to Detail
Must be a current ULV Student

Preferred Qualifications

Some knowledge of content-creating tools (i.e. Canva, Publisher, Adobe Spark, etc.)
Experience managing professional/business social media accounts

Benefits Summary

Employees are eligible for the following benefits:

One hour of Paid Sick Leave for every 30 hours worked, with a maximum accrual of 24 hours of Paid Sick Leave per year and capped at 48 hours.

University of La Verne Defined Contribution Retirement Plan - can contribute employee voluntary contributions, excluding wages derived from federal work study funds.

In accordance with the Affordable Care Act (ACA), employees who work an average of 30 or more hours per week, will be eligible for medical coverage through the University of La Verne.

Covered under the University of La Verne Workers Compensation Insurance.
