The Photography Assistant will be responsible for assisting in day-today photography operations, administration, and imaging needs for Atlanta United. In this position, the candidate will play a key role in assisting the Team Photographer by helping shape and organize the visual storytelling as well as maintaining our digital asset library.

Position Summary
The Photography Assistant will be responsible for assisting in day-today photography operations, administration, and imaging needs for Atlanta United. In this position, the candidate will play a key role in assisting the Team Photographer by helping shape and organize the visual storytelling as well as maintaining our digital asset library.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Assisting in day-to-day photo administration and operations
- Serve as an assistant to the photographers on select photo shoots
- Assisting Digital Asset Manager and Team Photographers with daily maintenance of the Digital Asset Management System (DAM); including tagging metadata, archiving, creating portals, spotlight searches and collections
- Coordinating delivery of images for internal and external partners
- Photographing corporate events, community events and team events as needed
- Assisting Team photographers with team operations and imaging needs
- Serve as a dedicated matchday photographer for the Atlanta United
- Capture flat lay images for retail and social needs
- Able to edit and provide efficient delivery of images in real-time to digital and social team.
- Maintain photo archiving database with proper metadata and tagging.
- Keep current on digital, creative and photographic trends and technology.
- Work closely with creative, video, social, and digital team to ensure that photos are best-in-class and produce high-performing content.
- Will help create Web Galleries with Digital.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Able to build relationships with professional athletes and coaches
- Must submit link to portfolio/work samples in order to be considered.
- Portfolio demonstrates sports photography experience.
- Bachelor's degree or two year degree in visual arts, production, or equivalent education and experience.
- Commitment to a 30-hour work week with availability to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends.
- Possess a high level of interest in working in a fast-paced, sports-centered environment.
- Must be able to show a portfolio of work that outlines an understanding of visual storytelling, ability to work with natural and studio lighting, and knowledge of image post processing and editing
- Experience in creating image-based storytelling content
- Must have experience working in an athletic organization in the last 1 - 2 years, can include college, freelance work - working with a team.
- Demonstrated experience with still photography and post processing skills
- Understanding of sports action, lifestyle and portrait photography
- Experience with Adobe Lightroom, Photo Mechanic, Photoshop and Mac operating systems
- Knowledge of DSLR and mirrorless camera systems
- Knowledge of metadata and how it effects the user experience when searching for an asset
- Ability to work with both ambient and studio lighting including familiarity with various light modifiers
- Possess excellent organizational, interpersonal and customer service skills
- Maintain exceptional written and oral communication skills with ability to communicate to all levels
- Attention to detail and ability to focus on one task for an extended period of time
- Demonstrate maturity and professionalism
- DAM experience preferred
