The Head of Publishing will be responsible for overseeing the publishing strategy and operations for Stardock's game studio. This role involves leading a team of publishing professionals, managing relationships with external partners, and ensuring the successful launch and ongoing support of our game titles. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in game publishing, a deep understanding of the gaming industry, and excellent leadership skills. This is a salaried, full-time position at our Plymouth, Michigan office.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Develop and execute the publishing strategy for our game titles, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
Lead and mentor a team of publishing professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Manage relationships with external partners, including distributors, platform holders, and marketing agencies.
Oversee the planning and execution of game launches, including marketing campaigns, PR efforts, and community engagement.
Analyze market trends and player feedback to inform publishing strategies and drive continuous improvement.
Collaborate with development, marketing, and sales teams to ensure a cohesive and effective approach to game publishing.
Monitor and report on the performance of published titles, providing insights and recommendations for optimization.
Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities in the gaming market.
Education and/or Experience Desired:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
Proven experience in a senior publishing role within the gaming industry.
Strong understanding of game development processes and the gaming market.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful publishing strategies.
Experience managing relationships with external partners and stakeholders.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Passion for video games and a deep understanding of gaming culture.
