An internship that provides hands-on experience in summer collegiate baseball. Join the St. Cloud Rox for the summer to gain a behind-the-scenes experience like no other. You'll learn the ins and outs of a sport organization within the Northwoods League. The Northwoods League has over 350 alumni who have gone on to play Major League Baseball. The St. Cloud Rox are an industry leader in fan support, community engagement, staff development, along with consistently creating a ballpark environment that is incredibly entertaining and fun for fans and staff. Many former Rox interns have landed a fulltime job with major and minor league sports organizations.
Interns will support specific departments throughout the season. The position will include event day duties and some non-game day events as well. The ideal candidate is a strong energetic communicator with the ability to work in a team environment, have an eagerness to learn, and possess the flexibility to adapt to what each day brings with a positive attitude.
This position starts in mid/late May and lasts through mid-August.
Reports to: General Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Make sure the Rox radio broadcasts on 93.9FM/1390AM Granite City Sports runs as smoothly as possible
- Clip radio highlights and upload to a Dropbox folder for archive and social media team usage
- Make sure commercials are played
- Work with Townsquare Media (the station) on any new technology or techniques needed for the broadcasts
- Work all 72 Rox games (home and away) including playoffs
- Attention to detail on the broadcasts
- Other duties as assigned
- Have a positive attitude and provide a strong effort to succeed
- Must be available for all Rox home games (which include weeknights and weekends)
- Completion of assigned tasks on schedule
- Cooperation, responsiveness, dependability, and proper attitude in dealing with others including co-worker and customers
- Conformance to company personnel, safety, quality and housekeeping policies, procedures, and practices
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong time management and attention to detail
- Ability to work extended hours including some nights and weekends
- Adobe Audition
- Basic radio knowledge
- Basic computer skills
