Position Responsibilities:
Applicants must be eligible for a Department of Defense Secret security clearance within a reasonable time frame. Selection is contingent on passing a U.S. Government security investigation. U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of our work.
Position Qualifications:
This position is part of our undersea mission solutions division, a high-tech branch focusing on hardware and software system design, integration, R&D, and manufacturing. We lead in areas such as rapid technology insertion, undersea sensors, signal processing, guidance and control, cybersecurity, and high-reliability systems. In this role, you'll lead our engineering group, driving the design, testing, and production support of next-generation weapon systems for the Department of Defense.
Senior Engineering Manager (SEM) Responsibilities:
As our SEM, you will uphold high standards within our engineering group, guiding them through all stages of weapon system development, from concept to production. Your leadership will ensure technical excellence and performance, supporting various engineering processes from requirements analysis and design through testing and production support.
Your role includes collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and validate system requirements, as well as providing technical guidance on architecture, design, and technology choices. You'll serve as the technical lead, ensuring that customer requirements are met with the performance needed for deployment.

- Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Software, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with at least 8 years of relevant experience. Previous leadership experience is required, including day-to-day management of development and production programs, budget and cost management, scheduling, and people management.

Key Responsibilities:
- Functional Management (20%): Oversee staff management, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, career development, performance management, compensation, and team separations for our engineering groups (Systems Engineering, Integration & Test, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Design, and Configuration/Data Management).
- Direct Charge Program Tasking (80%): Engage in program design or testing based on program phases, lead proposals, contribute to technical strategy, cost estimating, research and development strategies, and growth opportunities.
- Recent hands-on engineering experience with complex DoD or embedded electronics programs.
- Experience building and leading high-performing weapon systems engineering teams.
- Proven ability to deliver design artifacts, engineering models, and production units.
- Strong risk management and mitigation planning skills.
- Experience fostering cross-program collaboration and driving technical excellence.
- Demonstrated success in engineering operations, including stakeholder negotiation and collaboration.
- Proven performance in developing complex, integrated hardware/software systems with high reliability in extreme conditions.
- Track record of technical and management credibility, with the ability to negotiate and collaborate effectively.
- Ability to lead a geographically distributed team.
