Job Summary
Responsible for the supervision, training, and implementation of all production elements (lighting, sound, show advance, load-in, load-out, crew, staffing, etc.) of all facility productions and rehearsal spaces for the VanTrease Performing Arts Center for Education (PACE), Studio Theatre, and support areas. The Production Manager maintains a safe working environment for all events by ensuring safe working practices are followed and by facilitating the repair/maintenance of resources and equipment.
This is a Safety Sensitive position pursuant to Oklahoma Statute OKLA. STAT. tit. 63, * 427.8 (2020).
Essential Duties
Recruit, hire, train, and supervise full-time and part-time production crew and staff. Create and maintain production schedules ensuring staffing as needed.
Work with PACE Operations Manager to book walkthroughs, production meetings and events in all rehearsal and performance spaces.
Review and update safety procedures in accordance with current health and safety regulations and best theatrical practices. Conduct and oversee safety/use training related to equipment and the facility.
Maintain facility records and production budgets, including labor, equipment, and expendable expenses.
Oversee rigging and facility to ensure scheduled maintenance is completed.
Support academic programs and auxiliary services to achieve the artistic vision and excellence of the performing arts at TCC.
Work with audio and lighting directors to prioritize equipment purchases as needed and make recommendations for updates to facility operations.
Oversee a current and accurate equipment list for all technical departments providing dean a yearly update recommending repairs, replacement and removal of equipment and for facility operations.
Utilize creative problem solving and best practices for theatrical solutions as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Theatre Design, Lighting, Rigging, Sound, or related field.
7 or more years experience working in a professional or educational performing arts center managing crews and events.
Ability to read, interpret, and implement from designer drawings with experience in managing large scale musicals, and orchestras.
Strong working knowledge of the operations of carpentry/rigging, sound, video, lighting, projection, props and costumes.
Knowledge and understanding of federal guidelines such as ADA and OSHA as they apply to theatrical settings.Experience with and detailed knowledge of current lighting and audio technology.
Ability to work flexible hours.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
