Job Description
Job Title: IT Technical Writer
Location: Danbury, Connecticut (Remote/Hybrid)
We are seeking an IT Technical Writer to develop, update, and maintain technical documentation for applications, websites, and IT systems. This role involves creating user manuals, process flows, technical guides, and other documentation, collaborating with developers, engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure accuracy and clarity. The ideal candidate will have strong writing skills, a technical background, and experience with software development and SDLC processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write and maintain technical documents including system guides, API documentation, and process instructions
- Work with SMEs and cross-functional teams to gather technical information
- Create process flows and diagrams using tools like Word, Visio, and PowerPoint
- Ensure documentation is clear, accurate, and user-friendly
- Review and proofread technical documents for consistency and clarity
Required Skills:
- 3+ years of technical writing experience, preferably in an IT environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Visio, and/or Google Docs
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to simplify complex concepts
- Knowledge of SDLC and technical writing best practices
Education:
Bachelor's degree in English, technical writing, or related field, or equivalent experience.
