The Senior UX Researcher will provide UX research leadership to guide and inform product teams towards designing and building better products and experiences for people using various research methods. This role will be a relentless user advocate, passionate for human-centered design, and have a track record of executing highly impactful UX research with cross-functional teams. This role will leverage a wide variety of research methods and work in lockstep with product teams to envision, validate, and ship high-quality experiences our users will love. This role (operationally) supports the team's direction, initiatives, and ministry efforts to achieve outcomes that further Life.Church's mission and reach people for Christ.

What You'll Do

    • Develop the Life.Church UXR organizational maturity to bring users to the forefront of our processes.
    • Lead and actively contribute to UX research processes, documentation, and repositories.
    • Manage the end-to-end process of UX research, including prototype testing, exploratory research, concept testing, and moderated and unmoderated usability testing.
    • Leverage a wide range of research methods, including generative UX research and contextual inquiry, participatory design workshops, interviews, formative and summative usability studies, and quantitative methods, such as surveys and data analytics, to produce informative outputs.
    • Champion UX research across other departments at Life.Church.
    • Work closely with Product Designers, Product Managers, Front-End Developers, and other Product team members in partnership to conduct strategic UX research, problem validation, and solution validation.
    • Proactively identify generative UX research with product teams to drive results and informative outputs.
    • Guide and train Product Designers on conducting evaluative research and creating strategic deliverables, including journey maps, storyboards, competitive analyses, and personas, to provide valuable insights that foster informed decision-making and product development.
Skills Needed to Succeed
    • Demonstrated ability to synthesize real user feedback into insights for solution design.
    • Showcase an up-to-date toolkit of research methods with the experience.
    • Ability to self-motivate, make independent decisions, and solve problems with innovation.
    • Effective at multi-tasking, project management, and time management to meet strict deadlines while remaining flexible and open to change.
    • Excellent verbal, written, and oral communication skills to clearly explain complicated processes and foster partnerships.
    • Effective at process and organizational management to coordinate, structure, and provide vision to projects.
    • Strong leadership skills and understanding of developing and guiding others.
    • High School Diploma or GED.
    • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Human Computer Interaction, Design or related field.
    • Master's degree preferred.
    • 3+years of related work experience in product user research.
    • Expertise in various qualitative research methods and frameworks, such as ethnographies, contextual inquiries, diary studies, personas, user journeys, card sorting, usability studies, product and prototype testing, survey design, text & verbal analysis, and observational fieldwork.
    • Portfolio of previous work demonstrating understanding and application of UX research to enterprise scale,consumer-grade, software product design and delivery.
