The Information Technology Division manages the technology infrastructure which supports business operations: including personal computers, laptops, servers, printers, the internal network which connects them all, telephones, smartphones, and conference room equipment. By providing direct support to end users via the IT Service Desk, onsite office and jobsite support, and Training Classes IT supports application software (purchased such as Oracle, Primavera, Microsoft, and custom-written applications such as ORCMS, PTS, IEH, etc.).

Job Description Summary

The End User Support Specialist reports to a designated supervisor/manager and is responsible for the design, installation and operation of information systems required to meet Authority operational needs.

Job Description

Responsibilities include:

  • Recommends appropriate hardware to create viable local area telecommunications networks and systems.
  • Plans and tests computers and telecommunication equipment for compatibility and performance before incorporating into systems.
  • Participates in the selection and installation of various systems.
  • Performs appropriate maintenance on equipment.
  • Assists in designing security features to safeguard computer hardware, software and telecommunications equipment.
  • Reviews vouchers for accuracy and cost effectiveness; recommends whether payment should be authorized.
  • May plan, monitor and review the work performed by designated staff.
  • Performs related tasks.

Civil Service Classification: Competitive

Salary:
  • Appointment Rate: $75,252
  • Incumbent Rate: $86,540


Subject to the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, the appointment rate for any newly hired employee, or employees with less than two years of active City or SCA service, shall be 15% less than the applicable incumbent rate.

Education

Baccalaureate: Computer Sciences or related field

Certifications (if required)

Work Experience

Two years of full time experience in systems operations, telecommunications, design or development; one year must have been in an administrative or supervisory capacity or a satisfactory combination of education and experience.
