As a Principal Business Intelligence Engineer at Amazon Prime Video, you will be a trusted technical leader and strategic advisor, driving the vision and execution of Prime Video's business intelligence and analytics capabilities. In this high-impact role, you will:
- Set the standard for BI engineering excellence within Prime Video, delivering exemplary solutions that are efficient, stable, extensible, and able to evolve over time.
- Define and drive the overall analytics strategy for Prime Video, ensuring alignment with the broader data architecture and business objectives.
- Lead the implementation of robust data governance practices, including data integrity, metrics definitions, and adherence to high standards.
- Simplify and improve existing BI solutions, models, and processes, maximizing their efficiency and effectiveness.
- Tackle complex, ambiguous problems, leveraging your expertise to invent innovative solutions that drive significant business impact.
- Lead cross-functional teams in the design, development, and delivery of mission-critical BI initiatives, dividing responsibilities to enable independent work streams.
- Amplify your impact by leading design reviews, probing assumptions, aligning teams, and educating the engineering community on advanced BI technologies and trends.
- Serve as a mentor and career advisor, helping managers understand data roles and guide the professional growth of their team members.
Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years of hands-on experience as a BI/Analytics engineer or data architect, with a proven track record of delivering high-impact solutions
- Exceptional technical skills, including expertise in data modeling, SQL, data visualization, and BI tool implementation (e.g. Tableau, QuickSight)
- Ability to decompose complex problems, devise innovative solutions, and lead cross-functional teams in their implementation
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking, with the ability to align BI initiatives with broader organizational goals
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience leading design reviews and driving consensus among diverse stakeholders
- Passion for continuous learning, mentorship, and elevating the BI engineering practice within your organization
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in streaming video, content analytics, and customer lifecycle analytics.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $124,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $241,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
