Position SummaryWe are looking for a skilled developer who is proficient in both WordPress and Laravel to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building complex back-end applications, custom plugins, and integrating third-party APIs. This role will involve working closely with our front-end development team and WordPress themers to provide advanced back-end expertise and problem-solving skills.The successful candidate must be able to code effectively, work on intricate projects, understand complex architectures, and extend functionality within existing codebases and frameworks.Position DetailsDirect Supervisor: Director of DevelopmentDirect Reports: NoneEssential Functions- Develop and maintain complex Laravel applications- Customize and enhance WordPress plugins to enhance site functionality- Integrate third-party APIs into websites and web applications- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in WordPress and Laravel codebases- Extend functionality of WordPress plugins as required- Write, modify, and optimize SQL database queries- Configure and manage web server environments for staging and production deployments- Collaborate with front-end developers, project managers, and designers to ensure alignment on project requirements and timelines- Mentor Junior Web Developers on back-end techniques and integration strategies- Manage multiple projects simultaneously with a focus on complex back-end functionality- Develop and maintain technical documentation as neededPosition Requirements- Proficient in PHP with advanced experience in back-end frameworks- Strong expertise in developing custom WordPress themes and plugins- Knowledgeable in API integration and working with RESTful services- Strong proficiency in SQL and database management, specifically MySQL- Experience with version control using Git and branching strategies for production- Familiarity with front-end languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), experience in animation and custom components is a plus- Knowledge of JavaScript libraries such as Vue and jQuery- Understanding of server management, deployment processes, and troubleshooting- Minimum of 3 years of web development experience with proven expertise in complex Laravel and WordPress projects- Experience in integrating APIs and building custom database solutions- Solid understanding of web hosting and server configurations- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent self-taught experience- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work through complex back-end requirements- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and explaining technical concepts clearly- Ability to adapt quickly and manage multiple priorities.
