McHale Landscape Design is searching for the next great Fleet Service Writer for our Operations Division which supports the fleet of five different offices around the DMV area. If you enjoy putting your organizational, customer service, and communication skills to work in a fast-paced environment of a busy automotive shop, this position would be a great opportunity for you!

McHale Landscape Design is a residential landscape architecture company and design-build firm dedicated to designing and constructing extraordinary residential gardens, pools, outdoor living areas, and home additions. Since 1981, the firm has designed, constructed, and planted residential projects throughout D.C., Maryland and Virginia, including more than 300 award-winning landscapes.
What a Fleet Service Writer does:
- Coordinates vehicles and equipment for scheduled maintenance
- Create, update and enter information for repair orders
- Parts ordering for all vehicle, equipment and small engine repairs
- Maintain and track parts inventory
- Compile, enter, and maintain records related to all vehicle/equipment information (digitally and physically) to include reports, vehicle and equipment documentation, registration and emissions information, insurance information, etc.
- Perform accounts payable processes to include the generation and submittal of purchase orders/invoices
- Knowledge of vehicle and/or equipment parts and services is highly preferred
- Strong computer skills using various administrative software tools, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and other MS Suite applications, Adobe, and web browsers
- Proven experience in safeguarding and securing various items of value, including vehicle keys, fuel cards, license plates, etc.
- Ability to take direction and work in a team environment but also a self-starter, able to work independently at some points.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and exercising good judgment
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Ability to consistently exhibit strong ethics and values in interactions with employees at all levels of the organization, vendors, and others
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus but not necessary

$59,000-$85,000 annual salary
