Primary Responsibilities
This Administrative Assistant III with Writing Emphasis position is primarily responsible for performing clerical and secretarial functions for the Bishop and other Diocesan personnel as appropriate. This position will be primarily focused on letter writing on the Bishop's behalf for correspondence such as condolences, congratulatory, and thank you letters. In this position you will also be a resource to others in the Curia to assist in the refinement of their correspondence on Bishop's behalf. Responses may or may not be repetitive, use pre-designed templates, or be newly created for the responses that are required.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

- Equivalent to a four-year high school education required; and associates degree preferred.
- Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing.
- Five years of experience in executive office roles.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills, including listening skills, and the maturity and professionalism to relate to various situations and individuals at various levels.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as professional and effective etiquette skills that reflect our Diocesan mission and values while representing the Bishop and the teachings of the Church.
- Must have a high level of experience, quality, and quality in preparation and writing correspondence and letters.
- Must have a high level of experience, quality, and quantity in proofreading, editing, and revision skills.
- Must have strong administrative and organizational skills.
- Must also have proficient computer skills including Windows, Microsoft Office, Access and Internet.
- Must have the ability to organize and set priorities, ability to multi-task, and the ability to problem solve while working independently.
- Must be able to anticipate and respond to the needs of the Bishop.
- Must also have the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Must be accessible and responsive to Chancery staff and management needs.
