THE OPPORTUNITY
The Coordinator, Sales Marketing will support the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board's mission to promote Los Angeles as a world-class travel destination for meetings and events. In this role, you will collaborate with the Director, Sales Marketing and other members from our sales team to manage digital content, produce creative marketing materials, and assist with administrative tasks. You will be responsible for maintaining the MeetLA website, creating social media content, designing event collateral, and supporting various sales marketing initiatives. This position requires a detail-oriented, self-motivated individual with strong communication and organizational skills.

The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Requires prolonged sitting, driving, some bending, some twisting neck and body, some stooping and stretching/reaching (up, down, out), requires grasping, feeling, and detecting, requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, mouse, photocopier, fax machine, telephone, calculator, projector, screen for presentations, and other office equipment on a repetitive basis. Requires normal range of hearing, talking, and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports and information.

You will be responsible for maintaining the MeetLA website, creating social media content, designing event collateral, and supporting various sales marketing initiatives. This position requires a detail-oriented, self-motivated individual with strong communication and organizational skills.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Digital Marketing: Maintain the MeetLA website following provided guidelines. Assist with the creation of organic social media content for LinkedIn and Meta, including event promotion and recap. Collaborate with the Digital team and Director, Sales Marketing to manage the digital asset library including event photography. (30%)
- Creative Production: Design & print marketing collateral, badges, tent cards, signage and invitations for customer events. Assist the Director, Sales Marketing with initial review of agency-provided content such as website and newsletters. Support brand asset requirements for tradeshows, industry events and partnerships including logos, imagery, verbiage, etc. (30%)
- Administrative: Handle billing & invoice coding for the Director, Sales Marketing. Collaborate with the Director, Sales Marketing to develop and maximize relationships with third-party vendors including printers, videographers and promotional products. Manage the event asset inventory including tablecloths, banners, car magnets, etc. (15%)
- Presentations: Partner with the Director, Sales Marketing to update and create sales communication materials including presentation decks such as Digideck and various PowerPoint presentations. (15%)
- Support the Client Services team with creating Perks Pass posters and developing event microsites for citywide groups. Maintain the DTLA Private Event venue database. (5%)
- Support the efforts of the Director, Sales Marketing in developing new sales marketing projects and perform other duties as assigned. (5%)
SOME OTHER THINGS YOU MAY DO
- Maintain familiarity with Los Angeles as a meetings destination.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
- A high school diploma and a minimum of 1-2 years' relevant experience required.
- Experience in digital media and working with marketing and creative teams and familiarity with design.
- Strong proofreading/copyediting skills required.
- Ability to communicate effectively across various departments and articulate needs of the Sales Team to internal and external members.
- Familiarity with basic HTML, website development and Google Analytics.
- Must be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
- Working knowledge of processing invoices, payments, and transactions.
- Knowledge of Los Angeles area and attractions.
- Self-motivated in coordinating tasks with excellent initiative and ability to work without constant supervision.
NICE TO HAVES
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Prior experience in travel, tourism or hospitality industry is preferred but not required.
- General knowledge of the function of the meetings and events industry and non-profit association.
- Working knowledge of photo editing software.
COMPENSATION RANGE
