Our client is a privately held company in the construction industry with a projects in most US states focused on environmental and marine construction.

This position is dynamic overseeing projects that range in the types of projects and the size while overseeing a small team.
This person will work closely with the Director and the other Project Accounting Manager as well as many other leaders throughout the company.
Great South Seattle location if you're tired of commuting and paying for parking!
Responsibilities for the Project Accounting Manager Position:
Responsible for the accounting for and proper recognition of revenue and gross profit for the company.
Monitor and analyze project-related profits and KPI's for the company.
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Project Accountants, ensuring they meet project accounting objectives and deadlines.
Implement and monitor internal controls and procedures to ensure accuracy in cost management, reporting, and project-level accounting transactions.
Audit accounts to ensure compliance with company policies and state and federal regulations; coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audit.
Other duties and projects assigned by executive management.
Preferred qualifications for the Project Accounting Manager:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field. CPA is preferred.
At least 5 years of construction accounting experience or other relevant experience required, with at least 2 years in an accounting management position.
Knowledge of contract accounting and revenue recognition principles in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles in the U.S.
Experience working with accounting software and databases. Strong overall computer skills, particularly with MS Excel and construction accounting software.
Ability to travel overnight as required by business needs about 20%.
