The Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA) examines issues related to energy markets, trends and policies. Our mission is to accelerate the transition to a diverse, sustainable and profitable energy economy. IEEFA is seeking a part-time Communications Intern, Graphic Design in North America. 

 

Communications Intern, Graphic Design

 

As a Communication Intern, Graphic Design in North America, you will work closely with the North America communications team to help elevate the design of our work. You may also be required to support Europe and other regions on a need basis. You will be a creative thinker with attention to detail and a background in graphic design, animation, or multimedia production. You will bring a proactive approach and ‘can do’ attitude to help increase the impact and timeliness of our work.

 

Working as part of a remote team, you’ll be expected to be able to communicate effectively with other members of the team over a variety of mediums (video calls, Slack, G-suite, ClickUp, etc.), be comfortable with raising issues or questions along the way and provide insights into your work.

  

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting in designing graphical elements such as charts, graphics, infographics, animations, short videos, etc. and sourcing images to highlight key narratives for use in publications, website and social media platforms
  • Liasing with the communications team and web content lead to design landing pages
  • Developing templates for communications products members on how to use templates as needed
  • Assisting with the publication of stakeholder digital newsletters, including sourcing or creating images/photos and layout
  • Contributing to initiatives that develop an online presence for analysts and their research that appeals to audiences with the ultimate goal of growing the audience
  • Contributing to the global and regional communication team’s initiatives and projects as required.

Required Qualifications

  • 0-1 years of demonstrated digital media, the design and graphical elements of reports and documents that are engaging and accessible to a broad audience
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field
  • attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage time and priorities effectively across competing demands
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to work remotely while liaising with IEEFA analysts and the communications team locally and globally using online file-sharing and video conferencing platforms
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Flourish, Canva, Microsoft Office or additional graphic designing software.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Drupal and/or a similar Content Management System (CMS)
  • Knowledge of email newsletter programs, including Hubspot


Work Schedule: Remote (North America), part -time,15-20 hours/week. Due to collaboration with international teams, morning or weekend hours may be required to accommodate meetings in different time zones.

Physical Demand and Work Environment: Must be able to work for prolonged periods at a computer. Computer work can involve repetitive motion, eyestrain, back and neck strain.

 

Hiring Range: $21.18 - $24.72 USD per hour

Pay rates are based on education, skill, experience level and internal equity.

 

Benefits: No benefits apply as this is a limited part-time position.
