Summary:

We seek a talented and experienced content specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled copyeditor and information architect, capable of organizing and presenting complex information in ways that make it easier for people to understand. You'll be responsible for developing, editing, managing, and optimizing content across various platforms to enhance understanding, drive engagement, increase brand awareness and support business goals.

This role requires advanced knowledge of the fundamentals of writing, grammar, syntax, style, and punctuation, as well as content strategy, SEO and information architecture, to write clear, lively, engaging, compelling and effective copy in a variety of styles appropriate to target audiences and the broader public.

  • Compensation: $75,000-100,000 per year

Requirements

Essential functions:
  • Copyediting: Reviews intranet, internet, email and print copy and makes copyedits to ensure proper grammar, syntax and punctuation and to enhance readability, accuracy, consistency and adherence with the organizational style guide.
  • Information architecture: Serve as the lead information architect and ensure that all intranet and internet web content is optimized to drive traffic, increase conversions, promote information retention and support internal communications, employee engagement and marketing goals and initiatives.
  • SEO optimization: Develop SEO-friendly content strategies and ensure all content is optimized for search engines through keyword research, on-page SEO, and proper content structuring.
  • Content management: Oversee the content lifecycle from ideation to publication using content management systems.
  • Data-driven insights: Use analytics tools to track content performance, generate insights, and provide actionable recommendations to improve user engagement and conversions.
  • Content audits: Regularly review and audit existing content to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with business goals and target audience needs.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with design, social media, and product teams to ensure content is cohesive, visually appealing, and aligned with brand guidelines.
  • Content innovation: Stay updated with industry trends, emerging content formats, and digital best practices to innovate and enhance content strategies continually.
  • Project leadership: Lead large-scale content projects, managing timelines, resources, and deliverables.

Qualifications or competencies:
  • Experience in content management, copyediting and information architecture.
  • Advanced knowledge of the fundamentals of writing, grammar, syntax, style, and punctuation and advanced editing skills to produce clear, lively, engaging, compelling and effective copy in various styles appropriate to target audiences and the broader public.
  • Proven expertise in SEO, keyword research, and content optimization.
  • Strong understanding of content management systems.
  • Strong project management and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in using social media platforms and tools for content distribution.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field.

Core business hours:

Monday- Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. - additional hours may be required on an infrequent basis.

Supervisor responsibilities: This position will not have any direct reports.
