Midwest Region Marketing Internship
Troon is offering a summer Internship with the Midwest/Chicago-Area Marketing team. With over 30 facilities in the area, this Internship is an opportunity to gain varied and broad experience, while having a hand in creating compelling, authentic and timely brand stories.
This internship is designed to give an active college student first-hand experience in the Golf and Hospitality industry, working closely with Operations and Marketing functions at the facility level. In addition to Marketing functions the Intern will get a look at various departments and functions of the of the Midwest portfolio of facilities, and interact with both club GMs and management team to help gain a more thorough picture of all that is involved with running a successful facility.
Successful candidates will have a passion for the golf industry and are looking to experience a wide range of departments and activities.
Primary responsibilities:
Strategically aligned with Troon's Mission Statement and Guiding Principles, this Internship Program combines hands-on learning, interactive discussions, and individual coaching to effectively educate and develop students into future Troon leaders.
Internships will start in late spring/early summer and will last 3-6 months, depending on the intern and facility needs. Each intern will also receive a $500 monthly stipend to help offset the cost of housing (if housing is not provided). Locations include:

- Following a schedule of facility visits and event, capture on-course and other facility content for email, social media and websites using a cell phone, for use in promoting our municipal properties
- Document, recap and reframe observed activities in order to create authentic, engaging marketing content
- Aside from prescribed itinerary of events and facilities, identify additional opportunities to create engaging Web/social content
- Combine current marketing and social media trends with course and facility operations to create compelling, fun content
- The Intern will work 10 weeks between June 1 and August 25, 20 hours per week
- Pay is $15.00 hourly
