The Opportunity:
As an Instructional Designer, you know that even the best tools and processes can't have an impact without the right education. Constructing an interactive course that teaches critical information requires a real passion for understanding the needs of your customer. As an Onboarding Administrator, you enjoy managing and administering the details of team onboarding implementation and working with Career Managers to create a smooth experience for them and for their new hire. We have an opportunity for an Instructional Designer who is committed to solving some of the toughest challenges by crafting effective training and administering onboarding.
On our team, you'll split your time between instructional design and development projects and managing and implementing our new onboarding program. You'll work with internal teams to capture training needs and advise them on the right learning solution to help them accomplish their goals. Putting the learner at the center of the training experience, you'll design synchronous, asynchronous, and performance support tools following instructional design methodologies.
You'll use your technical skills, creativity, and experience to come up with new ideas to develop an engaging, interactive learning experience. You'll recommend cutting-edge multimedia technologies and strategies to build a successful learning environment. You know communication is key, so you'll meet with SMEs throughout the process to discuss learning material and incorporate feedback. To ensure your solution is hitting the mark, you'll collect and analyze results using evaluation methodologies such as the Kirkpatrick Model then fine-tune your training for maximum impact. You'll be able to hone your leadership skills as you share your expertise through leadership and mentoring. As a leader, you'll identify new opportunities to build solutions to your customer's learning needs. This is a chance to use your deep understanding of training methodologies to shape a creative learning experience that will engage students. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $67,700.00 to $154,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. You Have:
- 5+ years of experience with creating high-quality, interactive, and effective learning solutions for virtual, web-based, or webinar delivery
- 3+ years of experience with developing and implementing onboarding programs
- Knowledge of instructional systems design principles and practices and evaluation techniques
- Bachelor's degree
Nice If You Have:
- Experience with contracts, pricing, or procurement processes
- Experience with instructional strategy, instruction, or design methodologies for adult learners
- Experience with using Camtasia or Articulate software
- Experience with using video and narration editing software
- Experience with eLearning technologies, including webinar platforms, LMS, or low-code or no-code platforms
- Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Master's degree
- Instructional Design, User Experience, or Human-Centered Design Certification
