Description
The Creative Director or Associate Creative Director - Copy is responsible for ensuring the highest level of creativity for the department and agency, consistent with clients' marketing strategies and objectives. This Copy Director will help lead the creative team from an overall and copywriting perspective while contributing directly to the work as a player-coach type role. A leader who can grow young talent, inspire a team, foster a healthy work culture and inject innovative thinking into every assignment. Responsible for providing the kind of oversight that will lead projects into new creative territories. A strong strategic thinker ready to be hands-on during all phases of a project from concept to execution. This Copy Director will also be involved in business development, ensuring creative quality control for all pitches.

Strategic Goals:
Help grow our agency: RP3 Agency's goal is to grow at least 20% each year and increase our portfolio of "higher profile" brands. The Copy Director will play a key role in helping attain this goal and will participate in an evaluation of the agency's positioning, messaging, and identity.
Lead a culture of creativity throughout the entire agency: Help lead the creative team, supervising and developing all team members, with an emphasis on the writers. Attract and retain talent within the department. Together with other creative and agency leadership, help educate the agency on the creative vision and inspire agency employees to follow it.
Develop and deliver a high-quality creative product: Collaborate with internal team members and our clients to create award-winning creative work that meets strategic goals. Work with PR to get recognized for that work.
Requirements
Job Responsibilities:
Help lead the development of the creative product from concept development through production, including contributing directly to the work
Work to establish a high bar of writing prowess within the creative team through any and all outputs
Create a positive work environment, meet work expectations, and help set departmental goals
Create relationships with clients to build trust and sell work in collaboration with other team members
Develop a collaborative and meaningful relationship with our partners and clients, working closely to innovate/evolve their brand through product or seasonal & yearlong campaigns, generating proactive ideas, and driving awareness & ROI
Partner with creative leadership, account leadership, strategic planning, media, public relations and technology to deliver integrated, innovative solutions to clients
Create and present presentations for client meetings and new business pitches
Keep track of the latest advancements in technologies used in creative direction and understand the progress in marketing technologies, including AI
Be part of decisions that ensure the organizational profitability without compromising the quality of the project
Help direct constant improvement in creative quality
Help manage external contractors (freelancers and production resources)

The Copy Director will help lead and manage the creative team with other CD leadership.
Position/Hours Worked
This is a full-time position. This position regularly requires long hours and occasional weekend work.
Additional Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field
7-12+ years with a strong background in advertising - creativity and storytelling around brands and organizations
Strong Portfolio with recognizable brands and award-winning work
Leadership and organizational skills
Effective time management skills
Creative, insightful, and interested in storytelling and writing
Working knowledge of all creative advertising roles and expertise, as they pertain to the development of the overall work product (storytelling, writing, a keen eye for art direction, film, digital methodology, branding, etc.)
Understanding of customer experience methodology, brand management, marketing, advertising, and e-commerce
Knowledge of relevant computer and web software as it pertains to creative direction and writing exports
Detail oriented, able to work under pressure
Effective oral, written, and verbal communication skills
Excellent presentation skills
