Department Summary
GenMark, a leader in molecular diagnostics, is seeking a dynamic and motivated Marketing Summer Intern to join our team for an enriching internship experience. As a Marketing Summer Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various marketing functions and contribute to our efforts in enhancing patient care through innovative diagnostic solutions.
This internship position is located in Indianapolis, IN - On site.
The Opportunity
Market Research:Conduct market research and competitive analysis to assist in the development of marketing strategies.
Content Creation:Assist in creating engaging and relevant marketing content, including social media posts, blog articles, newsletters, and presentation materials.
Campaign Support:Support the execution of marketing campaigns, including digital marketing, email marketing, and event marketing.
Data Analysis:Analyze marketing data and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns and make recommendations for improvement.
Collaboration:Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including sales, product management, and medical & scientific affairs to support marketing initiatives.
Project Management:Assist with the coordination and management of various marketing projects and timelines.
Program Highlights
Intensive 12-weeks, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.
Program start dates are in May/June.
A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.
Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.
Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.
Who You Are (Required)
Required Education
You meet one of the following criteria:
Must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree
Must be pursuing a Master's degree
Required Majors: Science, Marketing, Business, Communication, or related field
Required Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with marketing tools such as CRM software and social media platforms.
Ability to analyze data and interpret marketing metrics.
Demonstrated creativity and innovative thinking in previous projects or internships.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Enthusiasm for marketing and a keen interest in the healthcare industry.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior internship or work experience in marketing, particularly within the healthcare or biotech sectors.
Knowledge of digital marketing tools and techniques, including SEO, PPC, and email marketing.
Graphic design skills or familiarity with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Indiana is $20-$35 hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
