Position Summary

The Augustine Institute's Manager of Digital Marketing will advance our mission to help Catholics understand, live, and share their faith. You will lead a team of specialists who craft communications to existing customers and bring in new leads seeking to find or deepen their faith or the faith of others. You will assist in executing campaigns to educate and inspire users through product and content marketing. You will help grow the Augustine Institute, Amen prayer and meditation app, FORMED, Word of Life, the Graduate School of Theology, and charitable giving. By reaching Catholics with the right message at the right time in their faith journey, you will help them grow in their faith as they continue to engage with the Augustine Institute.

  • Build a deep understanding of users, products, and customer journeys. Own the user roadmap and set appropriate landmarks along the way, particularly in the Augustine Institute HubSpot environment.
  • Coordinate with Product Marketing Managers to develop strategic marketing plans across all distinct business functions to effectively communicate business needs, timing and seasonality, goals, and priorities.
  • Oversee and approve all channel specialist work including, but not limited to: email, social, SMS/MMS, paid media, web, and SEO.
  • Oversee all paid and earned media partnerships and efforts, as well as associated vendor relationships, placing emphasis on cross-product potential and integrated market positioning.
  • Collaborate with marketing operations, to design and implement test cases; measure, analyze, report performance and results; and continue to test-and-learn using a data-driven approach.
  • Leverage automated tools to streamline and measure marketing tasks and workflows, establishing and communicating processes where needed.
  • Define and deploy new digital marketing programs including relevant, impactful, and measurable efforts to anticipate consumer challenges and questions and proactively provide solutions and answers at all stages of customers' journeys. These efforts will help boost customer happiness and retention, increasing revenue and customer loyalty.
  • Collaborating with the Director of Digital Marketing, establish key team and other performance metrics; collecting and reporting on results and customer feedback, and continuing to adjust and evolve based on those results.
  • Lead a team of marketing channel specialists supporting marketing automation, email, paid and organic social, SMS, SEO, advertising, and marketing websites.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors on digital marketing efforts, ensuring alignment with Augustine Institute brands and conversion optimization.
  • Work collaboratively with teams in advancement, academics, content, technology, sales, events, and customer success.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of marketing experience with a focus on digital marketing and at least one year of experience with Agile Marketing.
  • 2+ years of management or leadership experience.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with proven success in copywriting and an eye for great design.
  • Strong background in user conversion, re-engagement, and retention strategies, with experience analyzing campaigns, optimizing funnels, running A/B tests, and providing actionable insights and recommendations for next steps.
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude with expertise in multiple marketing tools, especially CRM platforms (like HubSpot, Marketo, or Salesforce), to build and track campaign performance.
  • HTML & CSS proficiency is a plus.
  • Highly organized and process-driven, with excellent project management skills.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • An understanding of the Catholic Church, general knowledge of diocesan organization and operations, and possesses a deep empathy for Catholic users of Augustine Institute products
  • Experience with SCRUM, Agile, Kanban and/or 6 Sigma methodologies is a plus.
  • Experience with project management software and processes (Jira, ClickUp, Asana etc...)
  • Experience working with MS Office products and/or Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Certifications with major digital platforms like Google, HubSpot, Salesforce, Adobe, etc
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills including strong facilitation and presentation skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Exceptional time management skills and ability to define and achieve outcomes that meet or exceed the organization's goals
  • Experience with change management is a plus


Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, typing and use of office equipment, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
