As a Principal Solutions Architect in the Telematics and Industrial IoT team, you’ll be an integral part of a talented team collaborating with our external customers and internal Verizon Systems in IT, Network, and billing system partners on the implementation and integration of technical plans and strategies for 5G networks and solutions. You will join a talented team responsible for crafting and executing strategies that address key business challenges and accelerate pre-sales operations to bring key new telematics and Industrial IoT customers onto the Verizon Network.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Helping to identify, analyze, and evaluate strategies and initiatives that will deliver significant impact to the business priorities

  • Collaborating with other team architects, project managers, and other stakeholders to align technology solutions with business objectives for the sales solutions and proposals for Telematics providers. Must be able to work with a diverse group and serve as the golden source (or Yoda) as a tiebreaker in technical solutioning.

  • Developing Proofs of Concept (POC) to explore and validate new solutions and implementation approaches with the product and IT teams within Verizon.

  • Participating and helping to lead and direct customer network and systems testing to ensure solution quality and alignment with user needs.

  • Documenting the overall technical solution architecture and requirements, and presenting demonstrations to external customers, key stakeholders and executive management.

  • Serving as a technical mentor and subject matter expert within the organization, providing peer reviews and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.

  • Partner with PMO team members to ensure solutions are within scope and will enable on-time delivery of all engagements.

  • Continuously enhancing your skill set and product knowledge to remain at the forefront of technology and industry trends. This includes pursuing relevant certifications, attending product and network training, actively engaging with technical literature, and gaining hands-on experience.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
  • Experience designing, architecting, and developing interfaces and solutions and infrastructure for scalable, distributed networks and IT interfaces.
  • Experience with broad technology concepts including: software defined networking, 5G network interaction, API’s, information security and collaboration tools.
  • Experience effectively communicating and discussing complex business and technical topics to all levels of the organization and external customers.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving skills to convert complex product requirements to elegant technical solutions.
  • Must have the ability to partner with all parties, understand perspectives and balance Verizon needs with customer needs.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or other relevant engineering disciplines.
  • Two or more years of experience developing and implementing business strategies.
  • Two or more years of experience incorporating customer focused design thinking into problem solving.

Where you’ll be working

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $114,000.00 and $231,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is a commission based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
