United Collective
Multicultural Strategy Director (Advertising)
United Collective, Huntington Beach, CA
Company Description
Founded in 2001, we became a pioneer in bringing a new level of creativity under the simple premise that creativity aimed at U.S. Hispanics should be world-class. Over the years, the agency has been fielding more requests to expand beyond traditional Hispanic assignments. Today, we have evolved into a full-service, minority-owned independent ad agency, whose essence has been described by many in the industry as "creative-smart": highly effective and unexpected work, always in service to client's growth.
Job Description
At GALLEGOS United, the Strategy group is a key, respected partner for clients: we help set the agenda and vision for the brands, we bring forth cultural insights to ensure deep relevancy, we ensure creative is not only on strategy but is breakthrough and disruptive, we define the communications principles that guide media choices and we make sure we insert the brand in the most fertile and share worthy conversations.
The Strategy Director will work closely with the Executive Creative Director, other Creative and Account leads and report into the Managing Director. He/She will bring to the table a strong point of view and critical thinking across audience insights, cultural & societal shifts, media trends, creative influences, business dynamics, connection context, and tech innovations that inform strong, channel agnostic strategic recommendations. The Strategy Director is required to stay abreast of the competitive landscape as it pertains to creative work, brand tone, channel choices, use of media and ideas within the category (and any analogous categories). In addition, he/she has the exciting opportunity to contribute to the company's thought leadership agenda and key strategic initiatives, often collaborating with the CEO and the Executive Leadership Team.
Because of the agency's client roster and current assignments, international experience (especially in Spanish-language markets) is a plus, and some experience in the U.S. Hispanic market is a requirement.
