Qualifications
Bachelors and 5 years experience
Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience.

- Serves as liaison between the college, staff, faculty and members of the local, state and national media.
- Obtains exposure for the college in the media through personal contacts; communicates with the general public and the UH public in writing (publications) and orally (public speaking engagements).
- Plans and coordinates publications of the college, including newsletters, college web site, annual reports and brochures; supervises publications personnel in development and production of publications.
- Plans, coordinates and oversees the writing and distribution of news releases for the appropriate media.
- Arranges press conferences and media coverage of events.
- Develops and maintains intra-university working relations with the University departments of Media Relations, Publications and Development.
- Performs other job-related duties as required.
