THE ROLE:

SEMI is seeking an experienced technical marketing professional to effectively position the differentiated value of SEMI's technology community industry groups to SEMI members and partners through marketing programs to drive awareness, engagement and revenue. The role reports into the VP Corporate Marketing with direct collaboration with the VP of Technology Communities and staff. This position requires a deep understanding of semiconductor technologies, market trends, and the ability to translate complex technical features into compelling marketing strategies and programs.

This is a full-time, exempt position and reports to the VP Corporate Marketing at the SEMI HQ Milpitas office.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Market Analysis & Strategy:
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, industry and members' needs, and competitive positioning within the semiconductor industry
  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies that align with the company's business objectives
  • Collaborate with technology community teams to define target markets and audiences, identify key value propositions, and value differentiators
Technical Content Development:
  • Create high-quality technical content to educate and engage technical audiences, promoting events, webinars, workshops, and working groups
  • Establish a consistent approach to support the content of presentations, webinars, and other sales enablement materials for the technology community leads
  • Ensure all marketing materials are accurate, technically sound, and aligned with brand messaging
Go-to-Market:
  • Lead go-to-market strategies for industry technology communities, including lead generation for new initiatives, defining messaging, creating launch plans, and coordinating with cross-functional teams
  • Monitor and analyze marketing program performance in the market, providing feedback to the Technical Community teams for continuous improvement
Member & Partner Engagement:
  • Engage with members and industry partners to gather insights, build relationships, and support co-marketing initiatives
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences, delivering technical presentations and engaging with members and partners
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with engineering, product management, and sales teams to ensure alignment on product development and marketing strategies
  • Provide technical expertise to support the development of marketing campaigns, ensuring that technical accuracy is maintained across all marketing channels

  • You create, communicate, and deliver technical marketing content that adds value for our members and the industry at large
  • You raise awareness of SEMI Technical Community through a prioritized content development plan that supports events, social media, and email marketing to generate targeted leads.
  • You are a valued team member to the SEMI Technology Community by contributing quality content that increases member engagement and revenues.
  • You contribute to a positive perception of SEMI Technology Communities both internally and externally.
  • You navigate effectively between internal (staff) and external (member) needs.
CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS:
  • Ability to digest, analyze, and synthesize technical content into compelling and well written key messages, value propositions and selling points
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Ability to create and implement a social media program tailored to organizational requirements.
  • Confident communicator - able to convey messages clearly and effectively.
  • Strong relationship builder (both internally and externally with press and member company contacts).

  • Willingness to travel 10-20%.
FOUNDATIONAL KNOWLEDGE OR PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 7+ years of experience in technical marketing, product management, product marketing or a related role in the semiconductor industry.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor technologies, including IC design, fabrication processes, and applications across various industries.
  • Clear understanding of present industry dynamics and trends
  • Proven track record of successfully launching and marketing semiconductor products
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling messages
  • A proven track record of writing technical marketing content across different media that engages audiences
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to travel as needed for member and partner engagements, industry events, and internal meetings
