Senior Product Designer

The San Francisco Standard is currently seeking an experienced senior product designer to join our product organization. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the visual direction and user experience of our evolving editorial and subscription products.
Reporting to the Director of Product, you should have a background in subscription and growth products and successful content loops. We are looking for someone who excels in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple projects simultaneously, is proficient in producing high-quality user journeys, designs equally beautiful flows for mobile and desktop, and has design system thinking.
We are looking for innovative ideas and forward-thinking individuals who can create designs that authentically capture the essence and eyes of San Francisco.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with editorial, product management, and engineering teams to fulfill product requirements and challenge our product to evolve
- Design creative content features and challenge us to improve our editorial platform experience
- Work closely with data analysts to enhance user experience and outcomes
- Collaborate with the Creative Director to establish brand consistency across the editorial and growth subscription products
- Own end-to-end design processes for subscription and editorial product design, from user research to final UI design.
- Collaborate closely with product management, engineering, and user research to ensure design solutions meet both user needs and business objectives.
- Work from a product brief to develop designs that fulfill A/B testing requirements and create a good test that will provide impactful and readable results
- Lead usability testing sessions, synthesize findings, and iterate on designs based on user insights.
- Drive the development and enhancement of our design system for a cohesive product experience.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in a product design role, with a focus on UI/UX design.
- Strong portfolio showcasing experience in designing B2C products across web and mobile platforms
- Strong experience in engineering collaboration and direct development handover processes
- Expertise in design tools such as Figma and designing for Wordpress, Zephr/Piano, and Sailthru
- Experience collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and mentoring other designers or freelancers
- A passion for creating accessible, user-centered designs that are visually appealing and functional.
- Demonstrated user experience sensibilities and a strong sense of curiosity
- Ability to identify challenges in current worksflows and collaborate with others to find solutions
- A default drive for action and challenging the status quo
- Passion for building relationships and leveraging them to align teams towards a common vision
