The Marketing Manager is a newly created role that will have key oversight and responsibility in driving awareness, engagement, and support for Rising Ground's mission and services. The Marketing Manager will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing comprehensive marketing and communication strategies that increase awareness of our services, promote community engagement, and support fundraising efforts. This role will oversee all marketing initiatives, including digital marketing, social media, public relations, and content creation. The ideal candidate is a results-driven individual who can combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution to elevate the organization's visibility and impact.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement marketing efforts that align with organizational goals, focusing on increasing brand awareness and engagement with our organization.
  • Manage marketing projects from concept to execution, including content creation, digital campaigns, and print materials. Develop targeted marketing campaigns for key initiatives, including fundraising efforts, community outreach, and service programs.
  • Supervise the Communications Coordinator, partnering with them in the various marketing and communications efforts of the organization.
  • Work closely with program staff, development, and executive leadership, to ensure marketing initiatives align with organizational objectives. Work with program staff to understand and promote key programs, ensuring alignment between marketing strategies and program goals. Develop content that tells compelling stories about the individuals and families we serve, as well as the impact our programs have on the community.
  • Maintain and reinforce brand guidelines, ensuring consistent visual and messaging standards across all channels.
  • Liaison with Outreach department to ensure seamless communication and collaboration on marketing initiatives and creating synergies for external relations efforts for the organization.
  • With Communications Coordinator, develop compelling content for the website, social media platforms, newsletters, and promotional materials. Monitor website analytics and social media metrics, and adjust strategies as needed to enhance online presence and outreach.
  • Collaborate with the development team to promote fundraising events, community outreach efforts, and program initiatives, including creation of event collateral, email campaigns, and press releases
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with local media, drafting press releases, and securing media coverage for key initiatives and events.
  • Serve as a spokesperson, champion and ambassador for the organization as necessary, ensuring alignment with the mission and values of the organization.
  • Oversee the marketing budget, ensuring cost-effective strategies and responsible spending, including external contractors
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • 4-6 years of marketing experience.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing multi-channel marketing campaigns.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency with digital marketing tools and assessing results.
  • Familiarity with graphic design tools is a plus.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines and supervise the work of others.
  • Experience working with media and managing public relations efforts.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday in our Headquarters at 1333 Broadway office in Midtown Manhattan. Work hours options are 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, 9:30 am - 5:30 pm, 10 am - 6 pm.

Additional Requirements:
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Ability to work in-person in New York City (NY) for at least 3 days or more per week.
  • Ability to travel to other Rising Ground sites (if required)

The pay rate for this position is between $80,000/yr., depending on experience and fit for the role. Rising Ground offers competitive compensation based on the midpoint of the market among not-for-profit organizations of similar size. We believe in compensating staff members fairly in relation to each other, their qualifications, and their impact on behalf of the organization, and take internal and external equity seriously.
